This doesn't sound fair to me... (splitting the cost)

My sister and I have talked about splitting the cost of a bushel of crabs this weekend.

Well, as some know I asked about freezing the ones my niece is suppose to get. So I naturally thought the cost would be split 3 ways. I ask my sister to double check and it sounds like her and I are eating the cost and my niece is paying nothing.

I don't mind sharing, I don't, but why should I pay half and only get a third?

I did tell my sister to ask my niece if she is willing to split it 3 ways. If not, it would be cheaper for me to add $5.00 to my share and just buy a half of bushel for us.

Am I wrong or shelfish? Just wondering.

If your sister and you are splitting the bushel and cost then IMO - you each pay AND GET half.

If niece wants some then she can either buy her own or go in with you two. Then you each pay and get a third. Or split off and buy your own if it works out better that way, as you said.

and the typo is funny!

How did niece end up being involved and getting some? Sounds like it didn't start that way.

If your neice is your sisters DD then she should share her half with her. If you are paying half then you should get half!! What your sister does with her half is her business!
And no you are not shelfish or selfish!!! LOL

Your niece should have to pay as well. It isn't right for her to expect you and your sister to pay for her share as well.

and I agree with Mrs. M. You should get HALF and if your sister wants to share her half with her DD then so be it, BUT NOT at your expense!
