We have been ttc for a long time now.(almost 5 years) I don't think the docs are doing everything they can. They tested my hormone levels once. I had a hysteropingogram, a peek in to make sure no endometriosis, and a us. I tried clomid for 3 months. Nothing has worked. The doctor before last said that my only option is artificial insemination. That did not make me happy because I don't think he did enough to figure out what is causing everything. The doc I am seeing now thinks it might be luteal phase defect. If I list my symptoms... could ya'll help to make suggestions on what I should demand to be checked?
My cycles are very normal. They are every 28 days. I do have hot flashes, cramps, tender bb's, and just fatigue after o. My dh has been tested and he is normal to low. If anyone could just think of a test that I need.... it would be so much help!!!!! Thank you!!!!

So sorry to hear you're not getting the answers you need! Are you seeing a reproductive endocrinologist? There are many more tests that can and should be done. They can test the fragmentation of your DH's sperm, not just the counts and motility, etc. After 5 years, it sounds like ART is really the way to go, whether that's IUI or IVF.

Thank you! My RE was the one that made me mad. He did no test other than a pelvic. He did not do a hormone check or anything. He just went straight to iui, wo any explanation. He never offered to even look at the dh again. (A previous doc who referred us to the re had checked count etc.) I am in a small rural area with out many options. That's why I feel like I need to go in with a list of things to be checked, much less have a better understanding of what tests explain. (keep in mind the nearest re is over 2 and a half hours away... so I have to be prepared! Lol)

There's always the possibility that it's "unexplained" infertility. Did your current RE see the blood work results from the previous doctor? Maybe that's what caused him to suggest IUI without further testing.

Dear 5 years trying< I can tell that you are super frustrated both at your current reality, and at your RE. I may actually ask you more questions here than he did in your professional eval. That would piss me off too!!! Okay, so I looked at your profile and see that you are a reletivey new member. WELCOME~!! WHat it doesnt tell me is your age, and whether not not you have had children, or been pregnant before. I get that you are having symptoms, , and it could be luteal phase, but who knows!! please don't lose hope or get discouraged. Where do you live? We at Fertility Authority are experts in matching women with the best RE for their particular circumstances............no matter what those are. THinking of you.

Do you have brown spotting at the end of your period??? This is a sign of an underlying problem that prevents implantation . I highly recommend a naprotechnology doctor.

The one that did the only hormone testing was my regular family doctor. She referred me to a different doc who then turned around and sent me to the re. All 3 of them said I was "perfect and they had no idea what was going on. The RE didn't explain anything else...?
