Every time we get good news there is something else to worry about...

My husband and I were diagnosed with male factor infertility (complete azospermia) and it has been a long journey. Finally, after work up completed and a varicocelectomy, we were recommended TESE. I went through an IVF cycle in hopes that sperm would be found. They found 6 sperm, fertilized 6 eggs, transferred 2 blasts, and none of the remaining 4 embryos were good enough to freeze. I did a 5DT. 10D HCG was 617!!! Then I worry...thats too high. 12D HCG was 1361...16 day was 7900. Unbelievably great news, right? For about 2 days. Then a constant dull aching in the lower abdomen that will not go away, which of course continues to scare me. I have my first US in 6 days. I am praying for a heart beat. When can you breathe easy? I feel like I never can.

    PREG MENTS EVERYWHERE

I think that sounds like twins to me, and my abdomen was a ball of weeping misery for the first whole month. I was sure I was miscarrying and was going to have to go to the ER for pain relief every night just about.

In my case it was normal uterine changes and an unfortunate case of constipation and gas cramps, because my bowels are hilarious. I'm pretty sure you're fine - with TESE the hump is getting that BFP, the odds of it then being ectopic are very poor.

If you're in pain, call them and make them push up your first u/s to check for ectopic, or go to the ER, but only for ultrasound, there is no reason to do a pelvic exam and disturb your delicate pregnancy at this point.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice. I feel a little better today! But let it be said "Google is not my friend".

Google is no one's friend. Google Scholar, on the other hand, is everyone's friend!

I know the irony in me sitting on a forum and saying, "You can't trust crap you read on forums", but trust me, you can't trust crap you read on forums

Enjoy being pregnant: I promise you've already crossed the worst hurdle and worrying won't change the future one way or the other.

I guess the levels were a big indicator though the RE told me there was no correlation. We now know for sure following the 7wk ultrasound (2 sacs, 2 embryos, and 2 heartbeats)! I feel fine, still a little bloated from ET. Apparently morining sickness doesn't exist in my family. My mom never had any either. A little nausea in the evening that usually goes away after a snack. Food aversions present, no cravings. And my boobs have already started growing!!! DH very happy with the last one
