Hi everyone,
I was just wandering if there is anyone doing IUI/IVF in Southern California?
Currently, we are with Huntington Reproductive Center. We have one more FET scheduled for April, and I am soooo hopeful. However, I am already thinking of switching REs, since we have been unsuccessful with HRC for 2 years: 2 IUIs, 2 fresh IVFs, 1 FET, and, as I said in April will be the 2nd FET.
Anyone is welcome to help me decide, weather to get a second pair of fresh hands, or to stick with the same RE. They are the cheapest in the area, we pay all bills out of pocket, and they seem to be nice.![]()

I go to Dr. Lin, but he is Irvine. Reproductive Fertility Clinic
I believe they might price match I read that on one of the reviews I was looking at. Don't quote me on it. I would check though. I switched to him from another RE. The first RE I just wasn't feeling it.

justh2o, Thank you. I have never heard of this clinic, will definitely take a look. Price match would've been great. For how long you've been with Dr. Lin, if you don't mind. Have you been successful with them? What is it that you like about him, and didn't like at the other clinic?
I am still with Huntington RC, for my last FET starting March. If this is not successful, I am going elsewhere. I already contacted Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine, with Dr. Anderson Southern California Center For Reproductive Medicine - SCCRM. There are few people on this forum saying it's a good place to go. Still not sure. Once again, thank you.
Anyone else??[SIZE="1"][FONT="Palatino Linotype"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="1"]Unexplained - Me 35, DH 39

I started going there mid December of last year. I did CCT (clomid challenge test) and TI. He's resting me this month and I'm waiting for AF to come so I can get started with IVF #1. The other clinic there were 2 doctors. One was asking questions and talking to me but the other one that didn't really talk to me was the one making the decisions. Since IVF is not covered by insurance I thought I would look elsewhere. Do you ever just not feel a connection with a doctor? That's how I felt.
I made an appointment with Dr. Lin and met with him. Dr. Lin just seem to give me a realistic picture. He also explained everything. It was kind of funny he drew a little chart and graph explaining fertility percentages. It almost reminded me of my 8th grade algebra teacher. She would go crazy on the overhead. He also wrote down the process of explaining CCT, IUI, or IVF. He just seemed honest.
After talking with me and answering my questions he walked me over to the another lady in the office who could answer any other questions I had as well as go over the financial part. I like that he personally calls with my lab results. I can ask any questions when he calls and he will tell me when to come if I have to come back for another visit.Last edited by justh2o; 02-17-2010 at 06:24 PM.

justh2o, you’re right, that’s how I decided to go with my first/current RE, I felt she is a women and will understand the situation better, the connection was there…
MrsIke, what a coincidence, I go to the same clinic, same RE. I am so happy for you and your #1 IVF success, and will pray for your FET. I am also pleased with the office and stuff, but we have no results. Although, now that I am educating myself more about IVF and other procedures (‘making babies’ by Sami S. David, MD and Jill Blakeway, Lac), I feel like “not all the options were on the table”, we skipped from IUI right to IVF, without knowing of many other procedures and protocols. I feel like we were rushed to the IVF, considering the fact that we are “unexplained infertility”. My last FET with this clinic is scheduled @ the end of April. However, I will be looking for a second opinion.
DramaMama, TO is a bit far, but thank you anyways, baby dust for all of us.[SIZE="1"][FONT="Palatino Linotype"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="1"]Unexplained - Me 35, DH 39

I've been to both Dr. Lin and Dr. Anderson. Dr. Lin and his staff are really nice. I saw him in his Riverside office which turned me off, it was a little hole in the wall office and didn't seem really professional. That being said, 2 friends of mine (one who is 48) both did IVF though him and had successful pregnancies. What I liked about him is that he gives you his cell phone number to call at any time, not many Drs do that! I also know that they have some type of donor program to help with the finances.
Dr Anderson I absolutely loved! Really nice and super friendly staff. I went to him during my last miscarriage and any time I called he was immediately on the phone with me. And I know that their IVF stats are very good. I'm dealing with recurrent miscarriage though and he is very conservative on the treatment which is why I decided to go with Dr Brian Acacio in Laguna Hills. He deals also with Reproductive Immunology. He is very friendly and personable, really listens to what you have to say. He's the only Dr that would even look at my charts. The only downside to him is that he's really busy and most of the time I talk to his nurse when I call ( I also have her cell which I can call at anytime) which is fine since I have my plan in place from him already. I can email him anytime though and they will of course page him at anytime if it's an emergency.
Hope that helps! Bonnie

mamabird06, thank you soooo much. I have never heard of Dr. Lin but will definitely go and see him. Please, can you just confirm this is him (due to many Dr. Lin(s) in OC) Meet Our Experts - Dr. James P. Lin MD, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist Do they combine acupuncture and Chinese herbs with IUI/IVF treatment in his clinic?
In regards to Dr. Anderson, not exactly sure what did you mean by "very conservative on the treatment".. if you don't mind can you please explain. After my next/Last FET with HRC, Laguna Hills, I am planing to go for a second opinion with Dr. Anderson, already contacted his clinic.
Wish you all the best. Thank you.[SIZE="1"][FONT="Palatino Linotype"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="2"][SIZE="1"]Unexplained - Me 35, DH 39

I'm doing an IVF cycle with Dr. Ilene Hatch in Irvine. I've been with her for about 2 years and although we have not been successful yet I do feel that she is very dedicated to getting me pregnant. She is very thorough and believes in diagnostics and testing before embarking on cycles which is why we have been with her so long despite not finding success so far. She also has a great reputation for not turning away older or more complicated patients/cases.
Only downside is that she does have longer than average wait times but I have found that making early morning appointments usually counter this issue.
