first period after miscarriage??
Hi All,
I'm just wondering how long it took those of you who have had a miscarriage to get AF? It's been 5 wks and I'm still waiting....when I get it (naturally or induced if I don't get it by next week), I start the CLomid/IUI process. Just wondering... Thanks! Melanie

I was probably 3 weeks before I started my first normal cycle. Are you going to be doing IUI even if they induce a period from you? My RE wanted at least one normal cycle on my own first.

HI. Thanks for responding! Yes I will start Clomid with this cycle. I don't always ovulate so it's not surprise I don't have AF yet....but I wanted to know about others. I will do three cycles of this before moving to IVF - so hopefully this works! Thanks and good luck!

Tomorrow will be 6 weeks after D and C for me. Sat I go for blood work to make sure HCG is o, then provera. Our RE is having us wait for two AFs before starting a medicated cycle.

Thanks to all. I am so frustrated! I went for bloodwork on Monday. My hcg was less than 5 and my progesterone showed that I ovulated. So 6 wks and one day after the m/c I'm stil waiting. My RE told me to wait until this Monday and they will do the bloodwork again and then give me provera. I spotted a little yesterday but today - nothing! I'm just frustrated b/c I don't know what's normal and I want to get this show on the road!

I feel you! I am at 7 weeks today, and no sign of AF. Had bloodwork, and I did not ovulate. Started Provera on Tuesday. I hate waiting the 10 pays of pills, then 2 weeks for my period to start. Most people would have been though 2 cycles by then.

OBs tend to be patient and it can be 4 weeks to 3 months to naturally get back your cycles. A lot of REs will make it happen with medications and there is nothing wrong with that but no fertility treatments should be started until your body is back on its normal rhythm for a couple of cycles. (Now if you never have your own cycles this does not apply).
If you are impatient after 6 to 8 weeks, I would go in and ask them to make it happen for you. As long as your HCG is being monitored and going down (another thing that a lot of doctors drop the ball on).
