New here; doing Clomid with IUI
Good morning.
I'm new and this is my first month of 100mg Clomid with IUI. A little bit about me: I will be 42 in December. I have 2 children (Tristan is 12, Jackson is 10) with my ex-husband. I got married to my new husband almost a year ago and we've been trying to have a baby since January, 2009 with no luck. I'm ovulating normally every month and so we decided to turn to a fertility specialist. Our initial testing came back pretty good: AMH = 1.8 TSH = 3.879 Prolactic = 9.4 Husband's SA = 172.5 million with 80% fast swimmers My 3 day tests: E2 = 49 and FSH = 6.5 I start 100mg Clomid tomorrow, for 5 days. Another E2, FSH test on 10.13.09, Ultrasound on 10.15.09 and hopefully trigger than night and IUI on 10.17.09. Good luck everyone! Sheri

Hi Sheri,
I am new to this forum too. I had one cycle of Clomid 100mg days 3-7 followed by HCG trigger shot and then timed intercourse. We could not schedule the IUI because the lab was closed for labor day. Got pregnant, but pregnancy not viable. We will do our next cycle of Clomid/IUI next month. Hope your cycle goes well! Dana |

HI Sheri,
I'm new to this board also. I have posted on another one but not this one. I too am starting Clomid 100mg (cd 3-7) with an IUI this cycle. I'll be 38 in a month and have been ttc for a year. I was on 50 mg of Clomid for 6 months. I did get pg in August but had a miscarriage a few weeks ago. I am now waiting for my cycle to start so we can start the IUI process. We have no children and that was my first pregnancy. THanks for posting and welcome! Glad to know there are a few of us at the same place with this. Good luck and I'll be waiting to hear how it works out! Also for Dana if you read this..sorry to hear about your loss.... melanie

Good morning ladies!
I'm so sorry about your losses. I've had 3 miscarriages and I definitely feel for you. 2 of my miscarriages were before I had my boys and the last one was about 3 years ago. ♥so sorry♥ Well, just to give an update: My day 10 labs came back at 338 for my E2 and 6.1 for my FSH. Doctor was happy. Had my ultrasound yesterday. My lining is 10.5 and I have 4 follicles that measure: 13,14,16 and 17. I will do my trigger tomorrow night at 10pm and the IUI is scheduled for Monday morning at 11am. I've never done IUI and I'm a little nervous. ~sending baby dust to you~ Have a great weekend! Sheri

Good luck all! I had success with Clomid/IUI 3 years ago, although it took me 5 cycles and they say it usually only takes 3-4. IUI is a breeze, to me it was no different than the annual GYN exam.
My Clomid cycle is not going well this month (uterine lining is too thin) and the dr told me next month we should do something different (injectables and Letrozole). |

From Clomid to Follistim
Hi All,
Have been viewing for a bit but new to posting. I had 3 cycles of Clomid and Ovidrel over the summer months. All were unsuccessful IUIs. This is my first cycle of Follistim and IUIs. My post IUI progesterone level was 14.2. That was the highest it ever was after IUI. My nurse said that it was a good sign but not a garauntee. I know I'm not supposed to, but I took a PT about an hour ago and it was negative. My BPT is not until the 24th and I waited just long enough until the Ovidrel was out of my system to take the PT and avoid a FP (10 days). But it was negative! Does anyone know of a reason that the progesterone level would be so high if I'm not pregnant? I know the PT could be wrong for a bunch of reasons but I feel its not now. ![]() ![]()

Good morning ladies!
I did my trigger on 10.17.09 and had my IUI on 10.19.09 - everything went great, didn't feel a thing. Had my progesterone drawn a week after the IUI and it came back 13.4, so they put me on 100mg per day progesterone suppositories. Well, my temps have started to drop and I took a pg test yesterday and today - BFN. I'm only 2 days away from when I should start my period, so I'm pretty sure this month is out. So, I will start a new cycle in a few days and keep my fingers crossed. Thank you for all of your support! ~sending baby dust to everyone~ Have a great weekend!

Sorry to hear that, Sherri. I, too, had a BFN last month. I had to skip this month due to some big cysts on my right ovary. This has been a very bad month as far as babymaking. I am feeling disappointed and without hope for the first time since I started assistance in June. The doctor had said that my polycystic was very mild and that he thought this would go quickly and easily. Now I feel like that was false hope. I am going to be on my second Follistim cycle next month and I'm worried how far this will go. I don't think I prepared for this mentally. My doctor made me think I didn't need to. That's what I've been thinking about for the past few weeks and why I've been so teary and emotional. Last night, I started crying in bed and my poor DH had no idea what was going on.
Hoping for good news and lots of baby dust to everyone! |

Hope everyone is doing okay....sending baby dust....
Aunt Flo arrived today, so today is day 1 of my new treatment cycle; we are trying Femara this month. Anyone done Femara with IUI? Is it much different than Clomid w/IUI? Thanks everyone!
