Help, any advice?

OK, so my husband and I have been TTC for about 5 years. Have done surgery to remove mild endometriosis, clomid, injections, and 2 IVF cycles. The most recent IVF in 8/09 was the result of over responding to the Bravelle and was considered a recovery IVF, which supposedly has a better chance of working. Once the 2nd IVF didn't work, my RE suggested immune testing. Insurance doesn't cover it. My husband and I were contemplating switching REs and getting a 2nd opinion (have been with same RE for 4 yrs), but should we do the testing or switch to get another opinion before dishing more money out of pocket for testing that may or may not be the reason for the problem??? Anyone have any advice to give???

Thanks everyone- Tabitha

Tabitha, I am sorry you are facing these troubles. I have to tell you that I wish my re would've have tested me before doing IVF b/c I did get pregnant with my fresh and frozen cycle and then I lost my babies only to find out that I have mthfr homozygous c mutation and PAI. Both are clotting disorders and with mthfr I also have to be on 6 times the folic acid than normal women during pregnancy so my baby will not have birth defects such as spinal bifida among others. I am also on Lovenox and baby aspirin. I would find out how much the tests are at the different labs and ask re which are the most important tests and go from there. I do think it's important. I still get upset an angry when I think that re didn't advise me to be tested before I spent so much money(IVF is out of pocket) and sooo much heartache. I hope I have helped you a little and good luck

Thanks. It does help. Actually, you were thinking along the same lines as me- why suggest testing now AFTER we have already paid so much out of pocket? I appreciate the reply! Good luck to you!

I am near Clearwater. I currently see Dr. Sanchez at Florida Fertility, but I think I will be switching to Dr. Tarantino and Reproductive Group.
