Cant Locate an Ovary???
Hi - I am 35 and undergoing fertility evaluations with an RE here in town. All has gone good so far for me except she can't locate my left ovary on a sonogram. We've tried to find it on two separate dates and still no luck. It was there two years ago at my last sonogram - and I've gained 50 lbs since. Has something similar happened to anyone else and did you ever find a "lost" ovary? I'm stressing about this one...
Thanks! Colo4474

Sometimes it is hiding behind other structures like intestines or ueterus and hard to find. Don't worry. I've had it happen too with my left ovary. It "disappeared" probably because there was nothing really going on with it. It came back on the last u/s because there was a very small follicle developing.

I agree with Futuremother. Don't worry about it, its there!!
I recently switched drs and my last one never had a problem but this new doctor made me lay in different positions on the table and push on my ovary so it could be seen. Its funny how she had such a hard time but my last doctor never did??? Either way, she mentioned how it could simply be behind something or if you did gain weight, it could just be harder to see. |
