Smile Hi--very overwhelmed!

Hi everyone!
I'm new here. I'm 27 and my husband is 38, we have been married for 2 years and have been ttc for 18 months. Just this summer we went to see a RE and I started my first cycle with Clomid.
Unfortunately, even when it seemed we did everything we were supposed to do, AF showed up just in time to go back to work this week
I was so upset. All of this is soooooo new to us that I just figured, I was finally seeing a specialist for this, and taking meds and they were able to pinpoint exactly when I ovulated but it still didn't work.
I feel like I have so many questions and am still trying to figure this all out!
I joined this site bc as sad as it is to see so many people going through similiar situations, its also comforting to know I'm not alone.
I'm looking forward to getting to know a lot of you and sharing our experiences together!

Hi there...I can relate. I'm also on my 18th cycle of TTC & just used Clomid this current cycle for the 1st time....what I thought was perfect timing & all has almost turned into a bust of a cycle. I'm currently experience the pre-AF spotting And temp took a major dip the last 2 days. It just seems like you try & do everything right & it still doesnt happen. I was feeling pretty much in the dumps all day yesterday, still do a bit today & am thinking I need to take a break or something. I say that now but then usually get optimistic again come "O" time. Nice to meet you on here ....

tink, keep trying! keep trying! keep trying!

there's another board with lots of tips on how to use BBT (measuring temperature) & home OPK's (aka pee-on-a-stick or POAS) to help target the timing even better. remember that, even if the timing is perfect, there is still only an 8% - 20% chance of success (depending on age, personal circumstances, and who you talk to) each try with clomid. so having few tries is totally normal.

also, doing an iui with clomid helps.

don't be afraid to get tests done, sooner rather than later. we spent a long time trying, before we finally did a bunch of tests including sperm count (a very sensitive subject !) and fsh & estrogen blood test for me and finally figured out some other things were wrong.

hey there. i'm a newbie as well. we've been ttc since 2005. within the past 2 years i've gone through several cycles of clomid and 3 IUI. all with unsuccessful results. but we are still very optimistic and recently started IVF. hang in there!

I agree with Mrs Bunny, so all the medical testing as soon as possible. That way you know what you are fighting against. And never give up! Keep your eyes on the prize. That is the only thing that got me through it.
GOOD LUCK!
Julie

Thanks for all the comments!! I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner! I really appreciate all your responses! Glad to see that I am not the only one who gets very frustrated!
Since I wrote this post, I've changed doctors, started Metformin, for a possible case of PCOS and have to go in tomorrow for a post coital test. Lets hope this gives me an idea of whats going on!
