Stessed Out

I am new to this forum. I am 30 years old and my dh and I have been trying for over 2 years. I was diagnosed with PCOS and endo and there is nothing wrong with my husband who is 39. I had the laproscopy done in June and after 2 months of strict medicine we were able to start my first iui with the use of 50mg chlomid and FSH injections. My first iui everything went so well and everything seened to fall into place it was devestating when it didn't happen. I cried ALOT and I kep myself busy and moved on and focused on the next month. The next month didn't go well at all and I developed a cyst on my left ovary and the iui was cancelled. Again I was devestated and that is when I joined this forum. I don't have any friends or family who have dealt with IF. In fact my family is large with most of my siblings having children of their own. So now I am so stressed out and the hormones have been causing me to be crazy and crying all the time. The reason i am posting is because I have a VERY stressful and job and I work all differnt hours and days every week. It is physically and mentally draining especially when trying to scedule appointments around my work schedule. This month the Re is doing things a little differently and starting my ultrsounds earlier which makes it hard for me to request the time off. I have thought about taking a FAmily Leave of Absence seeing as I have over 280 hours of sick time. Just to get me through this last cycle. This will be the last iui covered by insurance and I feel I need to go into this month with everything I got. I haven't been sleeping and I have a dull headache everyday. I guess what I am asking is, does my situation warrant me to go out on leave? I guess a part of me feels like there are women going through the same thing and they are strong enough to work and go through IF. I just keep breaking down at work and I am in managerial position and it makes me uncomfortable for my staff to see me not myself. My AF is creaping up so I need to make a decision and talk with my employer but I was looking for some input from women who are in the same position.

Stressed,
Sara

Hello Sara, I am sorry that you are stressed. Believe me there had been some times where I was in your situation. I TTC for 5 years. My workplace has a policy such as "personal leave of absence." I don't know if yours does. You can take it after working certain amount of hours. If I were you, I would've taken it. I don't know, by the time I write this message, you might be out of there already.

Good luck,
Lilit

Hi Sara! I'm new here too!
I work in a job where going for these very frequent doctor visits is almost impossible. I think that if your job offers something like a personal leave and money wouldn't really be an issue then you should really consider taking it. You know you said the stress of your job is very high, and you know that isn't going to be helpful through this process.
Good luck with whatever decision you make!
