low spermt count but....4 follicles....can i be hopeful?

Hi ladies,
I need a pep talk. First I have to say that I am very fortunate to have three wonderful kids that i am very thankful for. We have been trying for # 4 for over a year with no success. we started going to an RE and my first cycle of clomid 100 mg I produced 3 good folicles and received a trigger shot with timed intercourse. I got a BFN. This cycle again a responded well and have 4 follicles at 18 and one at 15 at the time of trigger shot which i received at 1:30pm yesterday. I went in for an IUI this morning and my husbands sperm count was very low. 4.5mil only after wash. However motility was 70% which re explained was good. We went ahead with the IUI 8:30am I have another one scheduled for tommorrow at 10 am. I asked the doc what my odds were. He said decent since i have 4 maybe 5 good eggs and 2 timed IUI's. Husband sperm count is not good but motility is very good. he said between the 2 IUI's i will get pretty close to the 10mil reccommended sperm. Does anyone have any success stories or know of anyone with this type of scenario, or are we just throwing money away. I am trying to think positive but it is hard. How can pregnancy be achieved when you need at least 10mil sperm and we only have 4.5mil? Thanks in advance for your input
Lisa

I don't have a ton of advice on this one but I have definitely seen people get pregnant with less. Would also recommend intercourse at home to help increase the odds so long as hes done with the IUI's dont want count going to low. I know it probably sounds redundant but he has 4.5 mil after washing and you did it twice which may not seem like much when they recommend 10 million but just think it only takes ONE sperm to get pregnant. So if you're an optimistic person you technically have 4.5 million times MORE then the needed amount :-)

Hi dear -
It took 4 IUIs to conceive DD, and in the last, successful one, we had only 2mil with so-so motility (the lowest # of the 4!). And we didn't have a back-to back, only one...
HUGS, and lots and lots of +++ thoughts to you

update

thank you both so much for replying. A little reassurance really helps. The IUI's are done. First one as I said 4.5mil, second 3 mil. I am very hopeful. I had cramping after the second IUI and the doc said that was a good thing, he said it meant that we were timing it right. I go in the day after tommorrow to start progesterone and for an ultrasound and bloodwork. Then I go back the following week for a pregnancy test. Again many thanks for your support!
