2ww - anyone else?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am looking for someone else starting a 2ww? Today is day 14 for me...

I had a miscarriage in the Spring of 2008 (10 weeks) and we have been TTC ever since. After no luck for a year, my husband and I went to see my OB-GYN and she ordered an HSG. My tubes are open and I am ovulating (periods are very regular and my progesterone was good) but something looks amiss on the wall of my uterus (possible fibroid.) She wants to take a better look and has ordered an SIS before she will prescribe Clomid. SIS is scheduled for Sept 2 (assuming AF is on time.) Also, my husband's results came back and were all normal except morphology was 4%. We conceived once before which gives me hope but who knows what might have changed. Trying to have patience as I wait for SIS. Doctor said to give it another try without treatment on our own while we wait, so now I am on day 14 without any treatments.

Anyone else waiting? I would love to have someone wait with me...thanks!

Hi GGG

I'm BRAND NEW to this site, so I'm still getting acclimated to the acronyms.

I will wait with you!

We have been TTC since August 2006 and have not been successful. Unexplained infertility.

This is my first cycle with Clomid. Today is day 27, though my doctor said not to test until day 35.

My progesterone level was 15.03 on day 22. From what I read on here, that is pretty good.

The site has been extremely helpful & i'm hoping it happens for us this month!

Stay strong!

Hi Scranton Gal! Thanks so much for waiting with me! I am sending you good vibes...let me know how the test turns out. Have you experienced any side effects on the Clomid?

Hi GGG,
Thanks for the good vibes. Day 29, no AF! i hope she stays away!!

I did not have any real side effects with Clomid. A little weepy and emotional, but not like some of the side effects i've read about. Thank goodness. It was only 50 mg., so perhaps the higher doses cause more side effects?

How are you feeling? Any symptoms of PG or AF?

How exciting! I really hope you get the BFP! Nothing for me yet but only on day 17. I'm dealing with a doubleedged sword this month. If AF shows up, I have to go in for my ultrasound (SIS) to take a look at my uterus. They think I might have a fibroid but doc wants to take a better look before she prescribes Clomid. But if I am pregnant, I will be ecstatic but also scared of another miscarriage...just because of whatever this may be on my lining. So tough...yikes! Keep me posted!

I'm in the 2ww too! I'm actually on day 10 of the wait, so only 4 more days until I test. I'm trying really hard to wait but it is so hard not to do it early...

I was emotional on clomid, some hot flashes. I was on 50mg then 100mg and didn't notice much of a difference between the two.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi GGG,
I'm off the clomid now, took it cycle day 3-7. But if this cycle does not work I'll be back on it next. I would hope they'll increase to 150mg since 100mg only produced one follicle which is not awesome when doing IUI.

Scranton Gal and Ohjan - can you guys tell me more about the Clomid process? If all goes well with my SIS, that will be the next step for me. What are the follicles and how do they test for those, etc.? Any insight would be great. Thanks!

Clomid is generally prescribed for 5 days; starting in cd (cycle day) 3-5 - it depends on the dr when they start you. A follicle is the part of the ovary that houses a maturing egg. Each cycle, your follicles will start to grow. One generally "takes the lead" and the others will stop growing. The follicle will usually get to 18-22mm (I think) before ovulating.

The clomid, as far as I understand, will help the follicles grow & help with ovulation in general. And, unlike a normal cycle, it will often produce more than one follicle each cycle (and hence more than one egg). This is one of the reasons why multiples are so so common with fertility treatment.

I'm not sure about how they will check them for you. I'm in a same sex relationship, so they have to do IUI, they can't just send us on our way to keep trying on our own, ha ha. So, if they are doing the insemination, they'll check with an ultrasound to make sure there is a mature follicle and either plan the insemination from there or time it using an HCG trigger shot. If you are trying at home, I don't think they usually do the ultrasound because you can just keep trying based on your home ovulation kit.
