Dh and I have been TTC for a little over 2 1/2 years. In May, we had an HSG with my ob/gyn and it was clear. We started with an RE in June. We had several IUIs with no success.
My RE recommended a lap/hyst. so he could get in and check things out. I had the lap. on Tuesday. Afterwards, he told me that I had some mild endo, which he removed. He said the tubes looked great but the dye did not spill over in either tube. He said that half the time it's due to a spasm, half the time it's blocked. He recommended IVF or a repeat HSG.
Now that I've had a chance to recover from the anesthesia, I'm pretty upset. Isn't a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy the time to determine if tubes are blocked? Why wouldn't he have tried to fix them? Is there something I'm missing? I thought the lap would provide us some answers, not raise even bigger questions (i.e. are my tubes blocked?)
I have a call in to the RE, but I'm wondering if anyone else has ever heard of such a thing happening!
