scared of IVF

Hi Everyone!!!

I am a newbie..I have been reading a few posts, some are very touching. Hb and I have been trying for about 3 yrs. Did 7 IUI's in Mississauga, no luck, moving onto IVF hopefully in Oct/06 at Womens College T.O.--if we can find the funds.

But I am sooooo scared, hoping people can share some experiences good and bad.

I wish us all the luck, it's great to find support like this.

I just started my meds. a few more than IUI, but other than that everything has been similar to the IUI months. I was scared and now a little hopeful. YOu still have labs and ultrasounds, and a schedule.

I haven't done egg retrival yet. But from some of the other boards, it doesn't seem much worse. and with my RE, I will be completely out for the ER, and one valium for the ET. I hurt badly with IUI. So I am hoping that being out is nice.

Thanks for the info, all the best of luck.

I guess I am scared cause I don't know what to expect. I am nervous about the ER, and ET. but my IUI's were not to bad, uncomfortable but painless(most of the time). I did not have side effects on Bravelle or repronex, other then bloating and very tired--which I can handle. The injections were painfull near the end of the cycle, sometimes would bleed. I would cry, while my hd cunted until the needle was emplty. It really burns.

Staying hopeful and positive is key...and whatever the pain may be--it is only for a little while-- the outcome will definitely be all worht while!!!

I was really nervous about the shots. They took me off repronex and put me on menopur. which is simialr and doesn't hurt as much as re****ex. but every doc is different. I will say the ladies here have a ton of encouragement and you will probably have a cycle buddy.

I have nine eggs. and that has made the shots worth it. we will see come ER and ET day.

The only thing that I am scared of is that it isn't going to work...

Shots, procedures, nah.......BRING IT ON!!! I am ready for all that...

The waiting is hurting more then anything they could do to me!

I can understand the waiting. been waiting for five years. But that is what is great. We are all kind of waiting together.
