Hi Kara,

I have been going to FCI in Buffalo Grove for about a month. Which center are you going to? Which doctor? Our first appointment was for about 45 minutes with Dr. Jacobs. He was very nice, and spent lots of time with us reviewing where we had been up until that point. He then reviewed some areas that we needed to still test, and we discussed the course of action for the coming cycle.

Since then, my DH and I have been in and out for multiple appointments for blood draws, ultrasounds, DH semen testing, etc. Everyone has been super nice and accomodating. My only complaint is the office is super busy all the time it seems. I don't ever wait for very long, but it just seems stressful sometimes. We had to go to the Glenview office last Saturday for the IUI procedure, and it was so nice being there on a Saturday because it was so quiet :-)

Oh, and we haven't seen Dr. Jacobs since that first visit. For us, that's good because we don't have to pay a co-pay unless we see him. What insurance do you have?

When is your appointment? And where are you in your cycle? Best of luck to you! I think you will like working with them. All of my friends that have successfully been treated for fertility have been to FCI.

Hi - I'm also an FCI patient - in their city office.

I think they are FANTASTIC! Very friendly docs and nurses and very efficient practice. They run on time and always call when they are supposed to.

I don't know about the other offices, but I imagine they are well run too.

I think you are in good hands!!

Good luck IL/FCI girls!!

To answer the questions above....

I am seeing Dr. Rao at the Hoffman Estates office on March 30th. I am either going to be day one today or tomorrow on BCP. And I still need to have a 3d hysteronogram? done between days 6-12 on this cycle to finish up testing. Not sure if that will be with FCI or my current RE.

You see, my insurance changes on May 1 and that is predicted to be in the middle of my IVF cycle as planned with current RE. Current RE does not take the new insurance, therefore I cannot do the cycle there. I had to find a clinic that takes both insurances...thus I am switching to FCI. I just hope FCI will be on the ball and do this IVF cycle now as I have been planning!!! I am very anxious to get started again. Do you think they will do the cycle with me now?

Kara,

I think they will. As long as the timing is right for you, I think they will do whatever it takes so you won't miss a cycle. Then again, I haven't gotten to IVF yet so I'm not sure if there is any reason why they would need to wait???

Good luck with your appointment! I think you'll be pleased!

Kara-
I go to FCI in Oakbrook Terrace and see Dr. Uhler. Dr. Rao did my fresh transfer last year and she was very nice. Hopefully you will get to cycle right away but don't get your hopes up just in case!
Good luck!
