Sperm not moving or "dead"???

I just got back from my RE today. My DH and I were to have sex last night and then I was to come in so that he could test the sperm to see how it was reacting. Under his microscope, there was plenty of sperm but absolutely zero movement. He made me get in the stirrups again to take another sample even deeper. Same result. NO movement. My DH has had 2 SA in the past year and his motility was good. My RE said that it could be that my body is producing antibodies that is killing the sperm. Is this serious or can this be easily treated and fixed with meds? (I should have asked but my head was spinning) My RE wants to schedule an Insemination for tommorrow morning if lab test says I am ovulating. If not, I have to give myself a shot in the stomach with a med to make myself drop an egg. Then we will schedule it for Wed. I am really wondering if we should be doing this anyway. If the sperm is not moving then what will an insemination do???? He said he wants to check to see if the sperm survives. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I am a little freaked.

From what I understand, the insemination will bypass what's "killing" the sperm. Hope someone else has more technical information to give you but just wanted to answer to ease your mind a little....Rebecca

Yes, having an IUI will bypass that problem, and can be much more effective while ttc GOOD LUCK!
