the only side effects i had with clomid were a few hot flashes and my skin starting breaking out a bit. By the 5th day my face was really red too, like i had a sunburn. That was it though. I was afraid because i heard alot of bad stuff about the medication.

i went on thursday for my 1st ultrasound and my follicles were still too small, so i have to go back tomorrow.

by the way...did any of you have trouble getting your hormone injections? my pharmacy has been giving me the run around with it.

Hi,

I am in 2ww after 2nd clomid cycle (50mg). I've experienced some nighttime hot flashes and have red splotches on my legs. I assume they will dissipate once out of my system. They started appearing a couple of days after my first round.

I couldn't hold out and did an HPT this am (10DPO)...BFN. I don't feel so hopeful right now, but it's not over until it's over. I will be meeting with my RE this week for follow-up. My guess is he may want to make some changes for next month.

Best wishes to all of you.

about to start 2nd round clomid

I have only taken clomid for 1 cycle and am about to go into my 2nd. I have noticed my moods swinging like a pendulum! Literally, by the hour my mood changes from positive high to a hoplessness low. This morning at church, I watched people making googley eyes at babies and pregnant women sitting next to me. The sermon was about trusting in God's plan and being thankful for your blessings. Plus, it has been an especially difficult weekend because my ex just had their first baby with his wife. I hate that I even know that. I felt like I was going to explode right there in my seat! I felt guilt and anger at the same time. I have been crying ever since I got home. I really feel like I am going crazy and becoming a bitter person. I don't like myself anymore. It just feels so unfair and I am not sure if I am so emotional because of hormones or I am just bitter. How long does the clomid stay in your system. You only take it for 5 days during your cycle, does it last that long????????????????

cheer up infertlemertle!!! you are not alone. i have similar feelings as well. today for example when i was at the grocery store there was a woman there with 4 children and another one on the way. she was yelling at them and complaining terribly while in line. i was getting very angry because she was taking for granted what others would give anything for.
it didn't help that i had been to my RE earlier in the morning for my second ultrasound. she told me that so far clomid has done nothing for me, and i will have to go back on wed. for a third ultrasound.

when ever i feel really down, i go to google and look up "clomid succcess stories". i like reading them because it gives me hope.

feel free to e mail me if you wish at albaabel@comcast.net

Don't despair, you aren't alone when it comes to hating others with children, or even feeling guilty. I live in the reproduction capital of the world, UTAH. Seems like the lesson given to people here is to have as many children in the shortest amount of time possible. I to have just come from the store where with every corner I turned there was a woman with two small children and ready to deliever another. It makes it very hard with constant reminders. I truly know how you feel! I have finished my first round of clomid and went in for our first IUI yesterday. I am still epxereincing the hot flashes especially at night. My moods did the swinging thing as bad as yours, but for only those couple of days I took them, after my last dose it took about a day and the moods were surprisingly up. I have noticed my face break out too, but other than that no other major side effects. My RE said that everything looked good when we went in, so maybe for those that don't seem to have a strong result in the clomid a stronger dosage, which I wouldn't wish the side effects on you. Please feel free to email me also csunflower1@msn.com. I truly know the hate/jealousy and guilty feeling. God does have a plan for all of us, and for some of us its a bit more difficult......Believe me when I say, I have screamed at him to know why myself.... Chins up we'll all get through this together! Please, anyone feel free to vent to me via email anytime!

Thank you guys for the support. I was actually thinking last night what a blessing it is to have a place like this to come. Also, that this whole experience could bring my husband and I much closer together. However, I don't want to do this too long! We are going to the doctor this morning for a vaginal ultrasound so I can get the clomid and ask about IUI. Its so strange, right now I feel better but I cannot speak for a couple of hours from now or tonight. I am like the exorcist! My head spins and I am all of a sudden "bitter wife". Always a favorite among DH's. I am really not that bad, but my DH thinks if I am upset then there is something cosmically wrong with the world and freaks out. I tried to explain to him that I have to go through stages of anger or grief,if you will, to get to the point of being "okay" with going to the next step of IUI or IVF or adoption if that is in the cards. I guess I have to let go of what my expectations were of how things were suppose to play out. I have to admit, I am a little nervous about the clomid this month. I don't want to cry at the drop of a dime but at the same time it kind of feels good. Like a release because at times I feel numb. Anyone starting IUI this month?
