Everytime I put my 3mo DD on her belly for tummy time, she spits up! I dopn't do it right after she eats. How did you cope with it. Any suggestions? Should I just not do tummy time?

I did very little tummy time with my daughter until about 5 months. We had switched her formula and she started to spit up less (she was also a preemie and slept for most of the first 12 weeks!). Probably the best time to do it is after she wakes up from a nap before you feed her, although she could get aggravated if she's hungry! I do remember doing that with DD... I would not stress too much about it though, kids learn when they are ready... its good to do, but will not prevent them from crawling/walking. My DD learned pretty quickly and was doing the army crawl by 7-8 months, and the regular 4-legged crawl at 9 months and walked at 10.

I think it is very important to do tummy time. We have been doing tummy time for the boys since they came home from the nicu. Our boys spit up alot in the beginning and have been taking prevacid for their acid reflux. Now that they are 5 months old they hardly ever spit up. Maybe they need some medication to help with that. Good Luck!

You may try a rolled thin blanket under the baby's chest - it helps them to enjoy tummy time more and have less pressure on the stomach.
