Lightbulb what's next?

I am currently 19 and married, been ttc for about 2 years now. Recently took provera(which did its job) and 50 mg clomid. I am working on my weight,as it is now 290, lost about 12 lbs recently. The clomid did not work. I have always had unusual periods. I do not ovulate on my own pretty much ever. But i recently started a period after 3 months of being late, big clots and still clots everyday so i think it was a m.c. Do any of you ladies have any advice from me as to what to do next? Thank you and your input is very greatly appreciated!

After 3 months of being late I would think that your linning would be thick and those would be the clots you are talking about. Mine gets the same away after a few months of skipped periods.

Did you do just one round of clomid? Did your dr do any testing on you? Normally if the first month doesn't work they boost you up to 100mg...the final is 200mg and they normally move on to another pill or injections.

Feel free to ask any questions, cry, yell, scream..we are here

I have to agree. I have irregular periods as well and when I do have them its really heavy with really big clots. If you are irregular then I wouldnt assume your being 3 months "late" I would consider it normal for you and yes 3 months would definitely cause the clots you described. You know what your going through but I also wouldn't think it was a m/c and even though I've never been through one I would assume 3 months along you'd have more then just some clotting plus if it was you'd definitely want to see a doctor about it.

ask your dr (regular ob/gyn or re) to be tested for PCOS, its blood tests and an ultrasound. If you have PCOS they will give you different medications which may help better than the clomid, these meds may help you lose weight too, and no I don't think it was a m/c, women with PCOS have around 3-4 heavy periods a year. but try not to stress, and keep your chin up.

thank you for all your help everyone! i have been tested for pcos and everything came back normal. Nothing on the ultrasound either. My dic says its all my weight and he wont prescribe me a higher dose of clomid until i lose the weight. He doesnt seem to want to work with me. I have been bleeding now heavy and clotting for about 8 days, my normal heavy and clotting is over in 4 days, my mom wants me to go to the e.r. if it doesnt stop soon because there is a history of hemorraging in the women in the family, just learned this today. But i have not gone to the doc in about 4 months so i am going to wait until this period is over and then try the bbt charting and the clomid once again. again, thank you!

see thats wierd that your doctor is ok giving you clomid with your weight but not increases the dose. Personally I would try to find a new doc just having your weight blamed for everything is probably the most annoying thing possible. I was so afraid of that happening to me while I was here in Korea because everything here is designed for small people but my doc here couldn't have cared less. He asked for my weight took my measurements and height then started all tests to rule out everything make sure I was healthy to take the stuff and started treatment. Told me if it didnt work he would up the dose then switch meds besides asking how much I weigh he has never brought up weight since then. pleasently suprised not sure I could deal with that on top of other IF stuff.

I would try and find someone else also. Doctors that blame only weight as the issue really get under my skin. If you went in because you were sick...would you let them say..."well because your fat you have a cold...loose weight and it will go aways." I think NOT! Don't let them push you around in thinking that is the reason. There can be many more issuses out there and them just not wanting to take the time to find out.

As for the bleeding. I was told by many doctors that if you go through a superplus or a heavy pad in less than an hour then you need to get seen. PCOS stinks! My last cycle lasted 5 weeks...2 weeks were heavy and I just couldn't take it any more. I went in, they starting me on BCPs to stop and then I had a normal cycle and ever since....nada. Annoying, but it's what I deal w/.

It really does sound like you have PCOS you should get in contact w/ your insurance company and tell them you aren't getting the right treatment from your dr and they need to give you a new one.

Good luck!
