Question IVF/ICSI + Overweight = any success stories? (pg. and child ment)

Has anyone done an IVF cycle, been overweight and had success, or did it take several tries?

DH and I are overweight (300 and 250 respectively)...will we be better off loosing weight before trying IVF?

Issue - MFI - lower than 300,000 on our first/last IUI...told to move on to IVF/ICSI.

Overweight and IVF

I will be the first to admit that I am definitely overweight and need to lose weight. But my husband and I went through IVF back in 2006 and now have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I was told that for obvious reasons the weight does not help but as I stated it did not stop us. So I can proudly say that we are a success story. Good Luck.

My story begins with an unplanned pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage only after 2 weeks. I only knew I was pregnant because I was so regular in my cycle. just a short time later we found out again that we were unexpectedly pregnant. It seemed to be going fairly well. I had some spotting but I was reassured by u/s that everything was ok. after about 12 weeks we found out that I was carrying twins. we couldnt have been more excited. At about 17 weeks they did an u/s and again everything was ok. then at 19 1/2 weeks I started bleeding excessively and went right to the dr for an u/s and it was to late. They told me that I suffered a miscarriage and there was nothing I could do. That was the worst feeling ever especially because we found out it was 2 girls and we even named them. I could even feel them moving. I was devistated. I thought maby my weight had something to do with it especially since I was told being overweight and pregnant was not a good thing.

Now I was so ready to have a baby and now we were actually trying but nothing was happening. After about 8 months we found a mf and needed to research further. My husbands testoterone was low. After tests and more tests IVF + ICSI was agreed upon and we underwent our first try. I had the hysteroscopy where they found an infection in the lining of my uterus. It was cleaned out and I was put on antibiotics and we moved on further. We implanted 2 5db and fortunately both implanted but one ended up ectopic. I had emergency surgery and the other embryo was saved. We now have a beautiful 2 year old daughter.

We have decided to try for another and proceeded with a FET. We transferred 2 5db and 9dpt my beta came back at 5.66. They told me it was positive but to wait and take another in 2 days. Unfortunately 11dpt it only rose to 7.8 so they advised me to stop taking all meds and repeat in 2 days that it was unfortunately a chemical pregnancy. The next result was not any better it rose again but only to 8.6. I was told to do the beta again on Saturday and see where to go from there. I am extremely anxious to start a fresh cycle and start again.

i realize everything happens for a reason and whatever it might have been it was not the right time right now and I just hope and gain strength from everyone else stories and experiences. Thank you everyone.
