Waiting is horrible!! I have no patience!
Hi,
So, I'm 39, overweight and just found out the reason we're childfree is my DH! So, off to the RE for a consult, who aside from not being very nice, not being able to find my cervix or my ovaries, said that he would treat me. Put me on clomid and took some blood tests and said we're going to go through a test cycle to see if I"m ovulating and if I can chart it with Clear blue easy. I'm on day 9, last day of clomid, tests came back normal. So why do I have to wait a cycle?! It is truely maddening!! Should start the clear blue ovu test this Sunday. Cross your fingers that it works for me please!!! This whole experience has been a roller coaster, which I know from other posts you are all well aware! BUT I'm having a hard time NOT being baby-crazy! Trying to tell myself that it might not work the first diui ...but I'm not having any luck. I hate being a pessimist, I'd rather be a realist, but can't seem to come close. How do you keep yourself grounded and stay positive at the same time?

I hope for great results w/ your DIUI. Please keep me updated on your testing. I love HTPs. I love watching them turn positive ![]() Staying positive at first is a pretty easy thing to do. It's after the negatives that it gets harder and harder. Watching your cycle unfold can be a beautiful thing. Knowing that your follies are growing, getting the positive OPKs. All things that you should be happy and positive for. The nervous part comes after the DIUI. Then the worry...will they make it....will someone stick. I think it's all apart of dealing with IF. Knowing that there is always that chance of wooohooo or booohoo. Ya know?Take it day by day...and milestone by milestone. What day are you in on your cycle right now? Good luck to you!!! |

HI BC!
Thank you for your reply. I'm on day 13 right now and experiencing a bit of a hormone flux! Cried this morning, ripped someone's head off this afternoon and almost started crying again soon after. Not sure if this is the clomid or not. Took 50mg day 5 - 9 and felt great with it, didn't think there were any side effects! So, now I'm not sure if its the hormones or the stress I'm under. Day 13 of my cycle and I'm afraid the OPK won't work, although this is just a test cycle, the DIUI will come IF the OPK works. And I'm actually glad this is a test cycle, there is so much stress in my life right now, waiting a month is probably a really good thing! I'll keep you posted! Thanks for the support! Cyndi |

You are most welcome....
By the way...CLOMID is evil! Hot flashes and mood swings. ICK! Not a fun drug at all! A practice cycle is good though. That way you can tell if you are ovulating and how well the OPKs work. I know there is a site that you can order them in bulk and pay really cheap. Like .50 a stick. I'll have to look in to it. I believe it taking lost of OPKs through out the end of the cycle to watch the change in colors so you know what you are looking for. Are you going in for a blood test to see if you ovulate? Or strickly OPKs? |

Blood test to see if I ovulate on the 22nd.
I just have to have the OPK work, since he couldn't see my ovaries to see if I'm ovulating. Otherwise, there is no way to time the DIUI. I'm using clear blue easy OPK. |

They always had a hard time finding mine too. Normally one would pop and the other would be not there! I just had a u/s done last week and they found my left right away and the right was hiding. Stupid things.
Please update when you can. I hope for the best news

Got my blood test back, I did ovulate....YAY right? Well, the OPK never registered, so now what? Well, they want me to come in on day 16 of my next cycle and get an ultrasound...they are "HOPING" that with a heavy follicle the ovary will be closer to the pelvis and therefor easier to find, then they will give me a shot (IF THEY CAN FIND IT) to induce ovulation and then IUI. The nurse didn't sound hopeful at all, I'm so upset about the whole thing. She said to buy 1 vile, because we don't want to waste money on storage fees. Like we'll give this 1 shot, if it doesn work, which it might not, you're SOL. I've been crying on and off all day. I did find enough strength to call another place here in town to make an appt for a 2nd opinion.
I just can't believe that I"m the only woman who has a hard time with locating ovaries or the cervix. I'm pretty heartbroken, completely embarrased and angry....what a fun combo!

Well you have 1/2 the battle done. You ovulate which is WONDERFUL! They just need to pinpoint it better. It honestly sounds like your RE isn't giving you the best care though. You should be in there every other day checking your follie growth and them "not being able to find them" is a bunch of BS. I would consider making a follow up call to someone else before you next cycle.
It's great that you ovulated though!

Hey there BC - so, I went to the Dr. and he said he saw a follicle, he thinks. So they set me up with a shot and I go for the D-IUI tomorrow. He said the follicle number was 25 or something? I was pretty out of it from the vallium. What is it suppose to be?
