Post One Overie With Multiple Follicles

Around October of last year, I stopped having my period. I took pregnancy test after pregnancy test, but kept getting a negative result. Finally on March 1st I had my first period after almost 5 months, and I continued to menstruate for 2 1/2 months. Around the 8th week of bleeding i was admitted to the emergency room where they took blood tests, a pelvic exam and an ultrasound. They then told me i was severely anemic {duhh} and that the ultra sound showed that both of my ovaries were of normal size and everything, but one had multiple follicles. I was shocked and scared at the moment so I really couldn't understand when he tried to explain what it meant.

So does anyone else have this condition or could simplify what this means?

Thank you!

First...Welcome! Hope the ladies around here can help.

What it sounds like your Dr. just told you that you have PCOS. Polycystic Ovary Syndrom. Normally comes with...out of wack periods, extra weight, some stray hairs, lack of ovulation, just to name a few creepy factors. You have a "ring of pearls" bunches of follies that have a really hard shell making it terrible to have an egg break through or even get big enough to break out.

How long have you been trying? It's good to know what you have so that when you see a Dr. about fertility medication you can have a plan of attack.

Here is a graphic I found that is the "ring of pearls" that I was talking about. If I can help out at all!!!! Please let me know.
