Welcome BBW

I want to wish you luck on your TTC journey. What are the first steps your RE is going to do?

I am going to go see a specialist first on wednesday. First control the Thyroid.
I have been doing alot of reading. Hyperthyroisism can cause for no menstral cycles and high estrogen. I am still learning.

I am constantly learning! I never would have thought getting pregnant would be so hard!

Do you have PCOS also?

I am new to this so I thought I would share my story. I am 32, have pcos, type II diabetes and had a thyroidectemy 2 years ago. My husband and I have actively been trying for the past year to get pregnant. I am currently on my third cycle of clomid. I started the following fertility treatments by my endocrinologist.
50mg clomid, 2500mg metformin (which I have been taking as part of my diabetes management) - no ovulation detected oh and provera to induce period prior to treatment and started clomid on day 2 of bleed.
100mg clomid, 2500mg metformin provera induced period- no ovulation detected
currently just finished 150mg clomid, 2500mg metformin and will go for bloodwork on the 24th of this month. The difference is that I have experienced some symptoms that have been different. I was getting lower abdomen dull pain around the time I was supposed to ovulate from the clomid and I have been feeling quite bloated for the last week or so. My endocrinologist said she will only try me for clomid at 150mg on 10 days as a last resort and already has made the referral to the fertility clinic. I am getting worried, frustrated and hoping that I can achieve my goal without the extreme fertility expenses such as IVF. Anyone else had successes with clomid/metformin mix?

pg ment

Baby32...Welcome!

I know there are lots of women with clomid stories. I think that Deb on here was able to get pg on clomid.

I wasn't so lucky. I wasn't able to ovulate on clomid so I went to the next step for me which was injections, but I did injections with intercouse...no IUI or IVF. So the cost wasn't that much. That might be something you want to look into.

Christmas even and bloodwork...ick! Maybe you'll have a nice present.

Please keep us updated.

Well, as promised I would keep you posted with the results. The 150mg clomid 5 day with 2500 mg metformin did not work...no ovulation=no pregnancy. I will talk to my RE by the end of the week to find out our next step. Hoping for = in the new year.

I'm sorry about your No Ovulation. I think the next step is 200mg. Prepare for more hot flashes.

Please keep us up to date and let us know what your next step is. Enjoy your new year. Have a drink...or two...or three.

Well...just got a call from my RE today...150mg clomid for 10 days and the metformin. I hope it works this time as it is my forth round of clomid. I have to start by inducing the period with provera before the clomid though.

Wish us luck...hoping time number 4 brings
