Smile Its been a While since my last post need advise on

Hello

I haven't posted in a while since my regular doctor just brush me off after only trying 4 cycles of Clomid and the Other Dr. saw me once in her office when she was out of town just insulted me calling me fat and that I should not attemp to get pg unless I loose some weight.

Well I started with the my new RE in July 08 she sent to get a LOT of tests and I really mean a LOT (my other doctor never did that )
This is what she is working with me know:
1. My menstrual Cycle was irregular so She started me the Pill
2. Stated on Gloucophage " Metformin" 400mg 2x a day
3. My weight on July 248

At to go and do a retest in November and she schedule me for December

Results up to now 12/01/08
1. My cycle for the First time is in between 28-30 Days ( Before it was 38 )
2. Glucose test from 110 is know 90 ( She wants it lower )
She gave me now Glucophage "Metformin" 850 mg 2x a day
3. My weight is 237
and that to start taking a Multi Vitamin ( any suggestion )

Has anyone used METFORMIN ? to tell me their "experience"

My RE has found out more than my first Doctor and that she told me that when I was taking the Clomid it would not work since my menstrual cycle was so irregular that it was hard to tell when ovulation would occur.

My RE is very optimistic and told me that things look very good for 2009

Thanks

PS.... please forgive my spelling since it is 5:42 AM and tired

Hi 37 and welcome

Wonderful Met...I tell ya for me the drug did NOTHING on it's own. I have heard of it working by it's self for others, but didn't do anything for me. However I did have good results when I used it in combination with Repronex (injections). With you getting your cycles on your own now is WONDERFUL news!!!! That is such a good sign in the right direction.

As for a multi....can you ask your Dr to give you prenatal? As soon as I told my Dr we were TTC that's what they gave me to start with. Just has all the stuff you need to get your body started.

So what's the next step in your progress?

Hello! I took Metformin before the discovery that we could only use IVF. It made me pretty sick (nausea) but then I traded to another brand and felt much better. I was taking 800/day as well. My RE told me that I had to cut way down on carbs while I took it and that allowed me some relief from not feeling well. I also found that taking it with a bananna(even tho they are all carbs) helped so much. Alone the metformin did nothing for me either, but when I combined it with Femara and Menopur injections I did well as far as developing follicles went. Good luck to you!

Your DH is sooo cool! I would love to try Belly Dancing. Then again...seeing my flab...flab around. LOL. Might be a scary thing.

When do you start the clomid?

That sounds like a really good plan. I hope a 2009 baby is in store for you.
