Good thread idea.
Well lets see. I officially started Weight Watchers yesterday so one day down and a million to go. I have gained so much weight that I feel uncomfortable going to the doctor yet but I am 37 and do not want to wait too much longer so I stripped down to nude to really see what I look like in our lovely mirrored bedroom closet doors and got a taste of reality that I have been avoiding. It's too late now and I wouldn't get in to the doctor this month so I called and made an appt. for next Month to go back to my doctor who helped me conceive my dd and hope to stick to the whole WW thing and just getting healthy in the hopes that when and I say when because I like to be positive when I do get pregnat I will be healthier. I will be no where near what I should be but I will be better than I am today and that is how I am thinking about it. I don't believe that you have to be under a certain weight to try to have a baby. I was 242 the last time but would like to healthy for me, for the baby, and for my family. So I guess he will start out by giving me provera to bring on my period and doing the whole clomid thing again. I think he does a total of 4 rounds before moving onto something else. The reason I am going to a regular OBGYN who specializes in infertility is because of the way my insurance is set up. Once you start testing due to infertility then you get bumped up to level 2 and there is a lifetime max so although I am getting up there in age I figure I still have some time to try the whole medicine route again first. If that doesn't work than it will be off to a RE but hopefully if that happens we will have saved up enough money to cover the expenses not covered. The other reason to going back to him is that he is all about trying new things out and on the 3rd round kept me at 100mg. of clomid but instead of 5 days had me take it for 7 days and that is when I ovulated and conceived. He had said he found that some women who are a little fluffy need just a little bit more time on it to work and not increasing the dose. So hopefully it will work.

Good luck with the WW. I was never one to stick to diet plans/ life changes. I have started walking more so I figured I would balance out some of the unhealthy stuff by doing some healthy stuff. LOL.
Why did he keep you at 100mg? Were you ovulating on the 50mg? Positive note (silly) at least you'll be in winter with clomid and the hot flashes will be nicer. Man I hated those. Clomid did NADA for me. Not even a follie growing. Hopefully I'll be able to bypass that next time....if we do a next time.Do you get your AF without provera? Is your DH excitied about trying again? |

No I didn't ovulate at 50mg for 5 days or 100mg for 5 days. I ovulated at 100mg for 7 days. I get my period maybe 4 to 5 times a year depending on my weight without provera. DH is very excited. He was one of 5 so always wanted a big family. Oh well.

I just started back over on these boards--good thread idea.
I am in limbo with RE right now since HMO didn't send over all the blood work for some reason and I refuse to pay for repeat tests if I don't have to. Our plan/hope is to start in Feb or March. I have to do injectibles and trigger shot. Luckily we avoided most of the clomid since it does nothing for me (all the way up to 200 mg with dd), so we (we I should be saying I...lol) only had to endure one low dose cycle for clomid challenge this past Sept. Here's to bfp in 09! |
