Had gastric bypass and still overweight!

I just joined the board today. I had Lap RNY gastric bypass in June 2006 and went from 317 lbs. to 187 lbs. but then major female probs hit and I gained some of that back. Then I started on Lupron and gained a little more back. Now, we started our Gonal F for IVF yesterday and I am sure I will gain even more...and hope to gain baby weight as well! I now weigh 212. The WLS was worth it though because they would not be doing IVF on me at 317 lbs, I am sure! also, I am much healthier! Oh well...I will lose weight after the baby is born, right?

I had gastric bypass 7 years ago (DS) and went through IVF. Just wanted to let you know that while I felt like a bloated whale, I did not gain any weight with the Lupron or the Gonal-F. Good luck.

I gained about 10 lbs. during the IVF cycle...which failed. They couldn't get any eggs during egg retrieval. I immediately lost those 10 lbs. right after stopping fertility treatments. Now I am still around 212. I am a teacher and went through a bit of a depression after the failed IVF. Then, since I have been out for summer break, I have not gotten much exercise and have eaten bad foods. I recently started back exercising and, after payday, will be shopping for better foods and begin to try to begin a healthy lifestyle again.
