Question Could I please ask a question? (x-post)

(ALSO POSTED ON THE SECONDARY IF BB)

If I'm posting in the wrong place...I'm so sorry! If my post offends anyone...please, please PM me & I'll delete it immediately.

A little history: I am ttc #4 after tubal reversal surgery. HSG shows one tube that my dr. says looks like new....and the other probably blocked. I wasn't O'ng on my own, so she gave me clomid. Now, I'm having normal periods & ovulating according to my bbt charts (even w/out clomid!). I do have trouble with timing, because my DH is only home on weekends.

Now, for my question...there is a (new) RE who is about 1 1/2 hrs from my home. I'm seriously considering making an appt. with him...but DH would not be able to go with me for the consultation. Also, I'm really overweight. I'm working very hard on this...but as most know, it isn't anything quick. lol I probably need to lose about 50lbs to be at what could even be considered a normal weight for my frame size.

Do all RE's work with overweight people? Is it wasting my time to pay for a consultation when I'm just going to be told to "lose weight" and come back later? What exactly do you think they could even do for me? I am not in a financial position to do IVF...but would consider injectibles if offered. $$ is definitely a huge factor in all this, considering we've spent so much on the reversal already.

Anyways - thanks for any insight or info you can give me. BTW, in case it matters, I'll be 36 in April.

Hi Kim ~

I am probably atleat 50 pounds (if not more) overweight for my height.

My current RE has not even mentioned my weight as an issue in any of the appointments I've had with him.

I have endometriomas, and because of a long, complicated Crohn's history, I can't have a lap, so he is going to do a draining procedure on them.

I was hesitant to go because I figured I would get the same response. I am 32, 5-3, and like I said ATLEAST 50 pounds overweight (probably more like 60-70 pounds).

Please feel free to PM me if you want any more specifics you might not want to share publically.

Good luck!

Don't, don't, don't let your weight scare you from doing ANYTHING. If your RE says anything about your weight, he's not the RE for you. Period. Find a new RE and try again.

I am overweight and my RE hasn't brought it up. He did recommend a specific diet because I asked, geared towards those with PCOS. I did lose about 10 pounds on that diet, but stopped because my IVF. If I lost a large amount of weight (very hard because of PCOS), I would probably ovulate on my own, but...Life's too short, you know?

like Nik, PM me if you have any other questions.
