How much is "Full-Figured"?

DH and I have been TTC for 2 years now. It's really getting hard. Maybe because it's January. Maybe because two years sounds so daunting. I want to lose some weight before May...for my sister's wedding and to be in the best health I can be for TTC. My dh is reluctant to take time off from BMS. I have a couple of questions:

1) I'm in the overweight category...20 lbs would make me feel alot better. How much do you think being in that category is affecting my fertility? And...
2) Is it healthy to TTC while also trying to lose weight? I want the weight loss to be my primary focus right now...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm having an HSG on Thursday next week...just to make sure. My doc doesn't seem to think being overweight is a problem. Also, first time I was preg 5 years ago (I m/c), it was right after trying to lose weight and going on a detox diet. Haven't been that weight since.

If you take a look at your height compared to your weight, you can google a BMI (body mass index) and depending on your doctor and RE, you may have to be below a certain BMI to start infertility tx. My RE is from Orlando area, but has moved to my NC home and wanted me below 178, I am about 5 ft tall, I am down to about 160, with a BMI of about 31% which is still considered obese, but not as bad as my original 38 or 39%. I don't know if this helps?

I have done 3 IUIs and and finally moving into the ivf world and my RE said my 29 BMI was too much and to lose 10lbs. I think it just depends on the Dr. Before I chose him a different RE said I was fine. I have (on paper) great lab reports, ovulate, the whole deal.....what a joy it is to be unexplained. But now Im unexplained and overweight. Anything you can do for your body as far as exercise and diet is wonderful but I wouldnt stress over it.
