Update - Pregnancy Mentioned

Just wanted to update that I am now 24 weeks pregnant. This helped me so much when me and DH started trying and I just want to let you know not to lose faith because it came happen to you. We lucked out with clomid. Everything is going good so far. Have a little bit of swelling but it's also very hot in NJ right now. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my blood pressure doesn't go up and next month I do the sugar test and just pray it comes back fine. Being overweight and having a thyroid problem makes me a perfect candiate for gestational diabetes. I'm hoping that I am one of those that aren't effected. I wish there was a board under the pregnancy forum for fluffy girls - lol. Most of the women on there are skinny minnies without the same problems. Would love to have conversations with someone who is heavy and pregnant. I feel a little alone. Due to my weight I have to go back for my level II ultrasound this Wednesday. I went at 18 weeks and although there were no red flags due to my weight they had issues getting good pictures on the baby and had to press really hard into my belly which was very painful.

Well I wish everyone luck and will update as time goes on. Please wish me luck that the level II and baby looks good. We had the blood test and I am at high risk for the baby to have downs which is 1 in 98 but chose not to have an amnio for fear of losing the baby. I don't think downs is a good reason to terminate. Anyway I will update and good luck and if there are any of you lurkers like me that are currently pregnant I would love to talk to you.

i'm not pg now- but with my 4yr old son i went thru everything you described!!!
hang in there!!! i was overweight and had a borderline thyroid problem when i got pregnant with my son and -aside from lots and lots of office visits, blood work and us...everything turned out fine!!! I had an hi risk doctor, regular ob-gyn,cardiologist,midwife...you name it i saw them, regularly.
Just take it easy- i went so far as to buy an at home blood pressure cuff - because i was a nervous wreck and checked it alot!! my son was delivered 3weeks early because my blood pressure went up, but not until the very end of my preg- but he is perfect.

good luck with your level II us...dont worry about the picture...my son didnt take a good picture until the very last us. he wouldnt cooperate or hold still...but everything will turn out fine !!!
let me know how you do...i'ld love to chat with you

Thanks so much. I definetely think the next time before I even start to try to #2 that I am going to start dieting majorly and start exercising because this pregnancy is a little rough on my body with all the extra weight.

misearblemama I may take you on your offer and email you. I really wish the pregancy board had a full figured and pregnant thread but it doesn't and a lot of the people on my board are very tiny and can't relate to some of the things I'm going through.

Goldie good luck. Try not to stress out if it doens't happen the first time. I flipped out the first 2 months and I think it made it worse. I look forward to seeing you on the pregnancy board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you dee. You do give us "fluffy" women hope. I hope your ultrasound goes well and all is healthy and normal. I don't believe that downs is a reason to terminate a pregnancy. I have had the privledge to know a few people and they have made my life brighter. On Mother's day dh and I were out at brunch and saw this adorable little girl (about 16 months) and she had downs. She was so happy and had the biggest smile on her face for the hour we were there.

Dee32,
First of all congratulations on your pregnancy. I am glad things are going well for you. I recently found out I am preg--about 5 weeks now. Since I found out I have already gained 5 pounds. I am beside myself, because I can't afford to gain alot of weight--I've got plenty already. When did you start gaining weight and how much have you gained so far? I am a good bit behind you, but I would love to stay in touch.
