Happy Birthday to me...NOT (everything mentd)

Monday was our anniversary. We spent several hours at the laundry mat doing 9 loads of laundry, because our dryer finally died. It was 97ish outside and 10 degree warmer inside.

Tuesday was my birthday. My morning began with DS throwing a HUGE fit not wanting to get up. By the time they left the house for school I was almost in tears. My DH made me breakfast in bed, I worked for a couple of hours for the church guy and then DH and I went to a knitting store that I've been wanting to go to forever. The owner helped me with a pattern I was stuck with. I went home and knitted the rest of the day.

No one in my family called until the evening. My mother called in the evening to wish me a happy birthday and then said, "I was going to call you at exactly 2:11pm, but I got onto the computer and lost track of the time and the next thing I knew it was 3:00pm and I was mad at myself for not calling you at 2:11"...so she called me 4 hours later. She then said, "Your present is going to be late, but I'll tell you what it is...I ordered a PediPaws for you." (You know to trim dogs toenails). Two of my siblings never acknowledged my birthday. My parents called me later in the evening and my mom (step) asked if I had received their envelope. She was disappointed and said she really wanted for me to get it on my birthday. I spoke with her a couple of time throughout the week to check on my dad (he has pneumonia) and she was concerned that someone had stolen my card. I was getting really excited about getting it. It came yesterday and inside the card was a $50 gift card to...Shell Gas. I almost cried. I know I should be soooo grateful for anything, but obviously I had unrealistic expectations that it would be something for ME. I thought maybe it was a GC for a restaurant or maybe a pedicure...for me not the DOG.

I'm just stuck in this weird depressing funk. I don't feel loved or appreciated. There is this mom at the kids school (that's been a SAHM for 20 years, drives a Lexus...you get the picture) that I shared DH's employment situation with. For whatever reason whenever she sees me she corners me to asks if DH has a job yet. Then she says, "You know K...these are really hard times"...yea no kidding I'm living it.

I've been so blessed...our church paid our rent this month, church guy gave me $500.00. I pray that I can just focus on the positive, but the negative is just so overwhelming. I still don't have a another job placement and DH and I are not getting along. His unemployment check from last month went MIA and I think he sent it to his ex. He denies it, but I just have this feeling. He has lied to me in the past and I'm having a hard times letting this go.

Thanks for reading this far...I just needed a place to vent. This is the only place where I can express my feelings. Please keep me in your prayers.

Oh K, I'm sorry your birthday didn't go as you had planned it. I had to laugh when you said you got a pedicure thing for your dog!! I'm sorry, it was just funny!! In fact, sounds much like something that would happen to me!! I just seem to have that kind of luck. I think you're doing great for all the negative thats going on in your life. Who cares what the mom at school thinks, remember, the grass can't be any greener on the other side. I'm sure she has some problems to. What a blessing it was that the church guy gave you 500 dollars!! I hope DH gets a job soon and that you two can start getting along again. I'll be praying lots for you. HUGS!!!!

So DH just called. He's in Boston for his Interview tomorrow. When he arrived at the hotel they upgraded him to an Executive Suite on the Executive Floor and there was chilled Champange and a plate of fresh fruit waiting for him from the Company he's Interview with.

I on the other hand just finished vacuuming ants up in DD's room, cleaning out the cat box and rinsing out DD's panties because she just got AF. And I still have to take the trash out and get both kids in bed. And I haven't eaten since lunch.

You know...my life would make quite a "dark comedy" right about now.

K, I will keep the prayers coming! I am so sorry you didn't feel special for your birthday. I have had those birthdays when people were well-meaning, but they just missed the mark and it leaves you feeling a whole lot different than you were expecting! I am also sorry you and dh are having a rough time. I know the money/job situation is probably playing a huge roll in it. You try your best not to let it get the best of you, and then WHAM - one day it feels like it is all falling apart. The good news is that it WILL get better! I hope that your dh finds something fast, and that you and he can get things resolved!
