    Ovarian Cyst and FET

Will a large (4cm) cyst delay transfer? I have no idea if it is active or not. I know an active cyst will delay IVF since my IVF was delayed 2 weeks just for that reason. But that is because an active cyst will hog all the drugs and interfere with stims. So wasn't sure if it mattered with an FET.

    Hi Tammy

I've had some issues w/cysts. The problem w/mine is that they don't like to go away on their own! When I did my mock cycle I had a 5cm and a 2cm and my RE was ok w/proceeding but she wanted to get the green light from my obgyn. My ob said she removes them when they get to 5cm, so I had them removed since they wouldn't go away w/bcps. It totally depends on the doc. I'm fearing that I may have another one, but I won't know until my us on the 9th. Did they see it on a recent US? Did they give you any feedback? I'm guessing that they would proceed as normal.

I haven't been to the clinic yet. I went to the ER yesterday for abdominal pain and they found it, among other issues. Doing fine, but have a UTI and diverticulitis, so they are keeping me overnight for IV antibiotics.

I just feel like I'll be postponed again. Already was in Feb due to other issues.

I'll send an email to the clinic tomorrow and see what they say but was curious what others have experienced. My cyst that postponed my IVF was found early on and took nearly 2 months to finally become inactive, although it only delayed my cycle for 2 weeks because they saw it during the SHG.

I honestly don't know but I wanted to wish you well. I am sorry to hear you are in the hospital and I hope you are feeling better! I had a small cyst last yr and they let me go ahead since my ovaries weren't active.

VQ - Thanks! I am really doing fine. The antibiotics are worse than the illness though. They are making me so nauseous! But then they give me Zofran for that and it helps. I sent an email to the nurse to see what she says. I'm not sure if all the drugs and the CT and/or the cyst would be a reason to postpone, but I want to be healthy at transfer too.

Tammylj - I am glad to hear you are doing better after your hospital visit. I am anxious to hear what your clinic says, I have a cyst that has been there for over 6 weeks and would like to do FET in August. I just had my 2nd U/S Monday so I havent heard from my Gyn yet to see what the deal is going to be. I do not want another surgery and the U/S Tech said she had a persistent cyst and her doc drained it.

Let us know what your clinic says.
