    delestrogen shots

    Hi girls

Just wondering if any of you have had these and do they hurt?

Are they intramuscular injections ? Where do you inject them?

I have problems with my lining so I am going to ask my doctor about these and also about Viagra suppositories. I am on OZ and i have had numerous failed cycles with oestrogen tablets and patches.

I used Delestrogen for my last and current FET. It has done wonders with my lining. It is almost identical to the PIO shots. The only exception is that it is thicker than PIO (not sure why the website says its less viscous -- that doesn't sound right to me), which means that it is a bit harder to inject the medication. Bottom line -- if you're ok with the PIO injections, you shouldn't have any trouble with this, and it is worth the extra shot for the great lining results. Good luck!

    HI Lisa

Well my scan was not good so cycle cancelled as lining only 6mm yet again.

My doctor has given me provera tablets for 7 days (progersterone) to bring on a period and which i have been on for 2 days and today i start synarel as he feels that downregulating me with the oestrogen tablets could make a difference from what research they have here in Australia. He is also going to consider the Viagra Supposotories to combine with this cycle as well. They do not do Viagra here in Australia or the delegon shots but he is considering the Viagara and will get back to me before i am due to start new meds.

Thanks so much for all your help. I hope that this next cycle proves to increase the lining with the slight change in protocol. He said if this does not work then there are a few other options he may try. Very frustrating!

    Lou,

I'm so sorry to hear that your cycle was cancelled. The exact same thing happened to me as I geared up for my last FET cycle. I remember the disappointment at yet another delay. On the other hand, as I look back at it now, it was a good learning experience and we found a new protocol that has been very successful (for my lining at least) and puts my lining in the best possible position for a healthy pregnancy.

During my current FET cycle, my lining grew beautifully. It was triple lined and well over 8 mm (my RE's goal) by about 15 days BEFORE the transfer. This was amazing for me, as I was unable to get to even 7 on my own with my prior protocol. This time, in addition to the delestrogen started a few days prior to the transfer, I also tried acupuncture (something called "e-stim" in my lower back that supposedly brings extra blood flow into your uterine area) for about 3 weeks before the transfer. I really believe the acupuncture w/ e-stim was a big contributor to my lining success this time. At my acupuncturist suggestion, I also started drinking four to six cups of Organic Raspberry Leaf tea per day. Finally, I have been trying to drink as much water as possible.

In any event, this little "recipe" of delestrogen, acupuncture w/ e-stim, raspberry leaf tea, and water really worked well for my stubborn lining. In fact, during this FET, my RE couldn't get over how good my uterus looked. I think he even called it "beautiful" and asked his nurse to take a look.

I wish you wonderful success in whatever protocol you end up pursuing next. I'm confident that your little embys will have a nice place to rest next time around!

    Hugs,

    Lisa

    HI Lisa

    Thanks for your post!

Thats fantastic about your lining ! Are you now in your waiting period? If so when do you go for your beta results? Good luck for you if you are!!!!

My lining only ever got to 6mm for the 3 cancelled cycles. What is the thickest that yours got to?

I am currently undergoing acupuncture once a week with someone who specialises in infertility and will ask her about your protocol to see if she knows about this as i usually get the needles in my lower abdomen and other parts of the body. I did buy some of the Raspberry Red Leaf tea so will try and drink that when i start the new protocol as well. I did read alot on the boards how it has helped womens linings and you have proven it does!

Thanks so much i will be drinking lots of water, red leaf tea and continuing with the acupuncture.

Thanks all for the info!! I am having lining issues - I got to a 6 during my cancelled cycle with no meds (natural cycle) and this month with Lupron and Estrogen tablets I only got to a 5 RE advised that next time he'd half the dose of Lupron as my body responds too well but I am going to ask him about Delestrogen, Viagara, and Estrogen patches (instead of tabs). I'll try the red raspberry leaf tea and acupunture as well - I'm done fooling around - time for the big guns!!

Mary & Lou: Sending you both positive thoughts for bit thick cushy linings!

Lou, in response to your questions ... this time my lining got to 10.5 mm by one week prior to transfer. We didn't measure it after that, but my RE said it had clearly continued to grow by the time of transfer. He also said that the research suggests that there's a clear benefit to being 8 mm and over, but that anything above 8 mm doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. Also, yes, I'm currently in the waiting period. My beta is Tuesday. To be honest, I'm not feeling too optimistic, but I figure that, at a minimum, I've worked out this lining issue so this will put me in a better spot for any subsequent FETs I might need to do.

    Happy Sunday,

    Lisa

    HI Lisapg

Good luck for your beta on Tuesday. I am hoping that you are wrong with your optimism and you get that big positive that you have been waiting for! Sending you lots of baby dust ! Please let us know how you went. Hoping it will be good news!

It is good like you said that you sorted out your lining.

What was the highest your lining go to before you got over 8mm?

Mine only got to 7mm did you get higher than that?

    Good luck for Tuesday!

    Lou
