Success w/poor quality embies?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some hopeful news. I had a frozen embryo transfer on Friday. They reurned 3 embies because they were all poor quality. I'm just looking to see if any one had success with low grade embryos. I had a 6 cell, grade 3 , a 4 cell grade 2 and another grade 2. Does anyone know how high the grades go? I'm assuming I'll be doing yet another fresh IVF cycle soon......Thanks

Hi,

I wanted to say, hi, to you and welcome you aboard. I don't know a lot about the grade and quality but I do know that there have been positive results here with embies that weren't good quality. One girl, who has probably just delivered her twins, got pg with a good quality embie and 1 that they gave very low odds for success. They both made it. I'm sure there are others, too.

I'm sorry I can't report any stats to you...I think (my opinion) that stats are overrated. I supposedly had a greater chance of getting pg with this past failed FET than I did with my first ivf cycle which resulted in twins. So, like I told one of my friends it's 50/50...either it will be a success or not. I'm rooting for the success for you!!!

Best of blessings and good luck to you in the terrible 2ww. You are in my prayers.
hugs,
Debbie

Awww.. don't assume that you'll be doing another fresh cycle soon. IMO your embies have every chance of making it..
My stats..
At my clinic the grades go from 1-5 with 5 being the best.
My history
IVF#1 - tx 3 - 2 grade 4, 1 grade 3 - BFN
FET#1 - tx 3 - all grade 3 - BFN
FET#2 - tx 3 - 1 grade 3 - 2 grade 2 - DD is 4

IVF#2 - tx 2 - both grade 3 - BFN
FET#3 - tx 2 - grade 2 grade 3 - DS is 17 months!

I have told my embryologist what I think of his "grading system"

Good luck to you!!!
Tina
