Protocol question....

Can someone tell me what an "HCG booster" is, what it does, and is it something used with FET?

Thanks.

Hello from what I understand the hcg booster is to help in the stimulation progress before retrival. not quite sure what it does? but I do know they do not use it in FET. I had it on my IVF cycle but not my FET.

HCG Booster

Hi Kat;
Hope I am not too late with this reply.....I just finished the booster shots (they seem to hurt a little more than the others because they have to be refridgerated, making them a little thicker)...but anyway my FET was 3/7. The booster shots are scheduled 3 days apart. So I took one the day of on the 7th, next one was the 10th and the last one was the 13th. I did not do these w/the fresh cycles. They are to help further build up the uterine lining and more specifically to aid in the implementation process. I hope this helps.

Take care-
Caio

Thanks ladies. I had an HCG shot with each fresh IVF cycle prior to retrieval, but had never had the booster for my two FETS. I did notice that some ladies had done this and was curious. Thanks for your posts....I'm going to ask my RE about his.
