tested pos then neg with fred

I'm new to these boards. I had a fet on the 8th and have been doing hpt's pretty much from the beginning. Yesterday, day 7 post 5 day transfer, I had a positive on fred and ept. Since I'm obviously obsessed with these aweful tests I tested again this morning and still got a positive on ept but a negative on fred (2 tests). This is driving me crazy and my beta isn't until the 22nd. Could I actually be pregnant?

I think that it's a good chance that you are. You are more likely to get a false negative from an HPT than a false positive. Even though I have had good luck with FRED's, I've heard that they can be unreliable for alot of people.

Good luck!

Try a Clearblue Easy digital test. I've always found that to be the most reliable... however, it seems that you need a higher level of hcg in your system to get a positive, so if it is positive with that test, you're in great shape.

I had my first beta very early at 8dp5dt and got a positive on it by 7dp5dt (that was the earliest I tried).

But it sounds like you're in really good shape!

Best of luck,
Jen

p.s. If you take a look at my signature, you'll see that I'm in beta hell right now! I've taken probably 20 hpts all positive since very early on, but now my levels are all over the place and I'm praying for a miracle here!!!

Thanks Myra and Jen for the good advice. I tried the clear blue test and got a negative so I guess I'll wait another day and try again...seems like it's taking forever to get an answer.

Jen...I had a similar situation as you when I was pregnant 3 years ago. My numbers were doubling very slowly, in 4-5 days instead of 2 and I was convinced I would lose the pregnancy but I ended up with a perfectly healthy boy. Good luck!

Lori

Thanks, Lori, for sharing your story of a happy ending. I just spoke to one of the nurses at my clinic. She said she has seen this happen before. It often doesn't end with a happy ending, but occassionally it does. Boy, I hope I am one of those people!!!!!

I hope the CB Easy works for you soon and that you get a BFP!!!

Thanks Lori!

Jen
