My DS is 8.5 months old. At 4 months, my hair started dropping as if there was no tomorrow. It still continues to do so with the same gusto. I tried cutting my hair to a shorter style. And try to eat healthy etc. What more can I do? Oh wait, I stopped sleeping through the night 4 months before the baby was born - could that be it??? Anyway, this morning, I found my hair sticking on DS's jacket in the daycare center - and spent a few mortified minutes cleaning it up in front of his teachers and felt depressed again about my hair coming down in clumps. Anyone else? Any advise???

Hi,
This reflects a hormonal change. I started at about 4 months too, after thinking maybe I'd gotten away without it happening. It's slowing down now at almost 9 months, but there's still times I get quite the clump. I also have to make sure I clean up the shower drain!IVF #1 March '06 BFP

I cut my hair short this summer because of my hair loss. I can't remember exactly when it stoped but one day I realized that I wasn't loosing it anymore (not more than normal). I am taking my prenatals again so I think that is helping a little but I think I stopped throwing my hair everywhere at 9 9 1/2 months too.
Hang in there!! It will NOT last forever!!2 natural pg (m/c 5wks 11/04, d&c 10wks 3/05)

I was the same way. I started using my DH Nioxin shampoo and it helps alot. I also work in a salon, so i get it at cost. I am not losing nearly as much and have tons of little sprouts everywhere. By next summer I may be back to normal.

I'll second the Nioxin. Works really well. Doesn't completely stop the loss but it sure slows it down. If you buy the larger bottles, they'll last for months!

I was losing it in clumps for awhile but, thankfully, it has slowed down a lot. My DS is now 8 months old.

It should stop soon; mine did slow down and my baby is 8 1/2 months; but when it was falling out, holy crap!
It was in clumps. Now I have little sprouts about 3/4 inch long at my temples, which I can see clearly, because my hair is highlighted and they little growths are NOT (LOL)...
It'll stop soon. My dermatologist said Nioxin also, but I decided no. He also recommended Rogaine. It'll stop, but tit takes about a full year to 18 months for your hair to be somewhat "normal" again.njmama

By the way, I second Sun's comment.
My baby yanks the hell out of my hair, and she's getting clumps sometimes.
