Sell off your jewelry?

Anyone thought of selling your jewelry?
I just saw an ad on TV for an internet site that gives you cash back and you can sell gold, sterling silver, precious stones...
I don't really have stuff to sell (I'm not a jewelry person- practically grew up in Amish culture) but I have heard that gold is going for a TON recently, so it might be something worth looking into.

BB - hey... I tried. I have a pair of diamond earrings. Have a certified appraisal that puts their value at 2,200. I drove around to several stores that buy gold & diamonds. They all offered me between 450-475. One told me that they were worth the 2,200, but right now the market is flooded 'cause everyone is selling their jewelry & nobody is buying. Bummer. I even tried craigslist & got one reply from someone that I'm pretty sure was going to try to scam me.

Wow... market's flooded, huh? Guess it kind of makes sense with this economic down-turn. Oh well. Maybe gold is still going well, not sure.
