Donating eggs for a reduced cost for IVF
Has anyone done this or brought it up to their RE?
How would this work. I've heard of people doing it, but I am really ready to start thinking about it. I'm in Texas and would love to learn how this works. It seems to good to be true Lori

I think it is fairly common place- at least I have heard of it several times over the years. My eggs are not good quality and never have been. It sounds like it is very worthwhile. You can get cheaper treatment for yourself and help someone else at the same time. Good luck!

I'm in PA and my RE does this. In fact this is what I will be doing for my IVF. I meet with him on 1/15 to see how everything works and how long it will take to find someone who wants my eggs.
The way it was explained to me is that I get super pumped full of eggs and at retrieval time the other woman gets half my eggs. In return she pays for her regular IVF cycle plus about half of mine. I was also told that if she has prescription cover they normally offer to get my meds for me. Either they pay or I would pay the copay. But with my RE, the minimum # of eggs the donee receives is 5. So if I only produce 5, she gets them all and pays for me to do another cycle. |

Cooper IVF
I know that Cooper IVF in New Jersey does have a shared cycle. They are the only one that I am aware of. I have signed up on their list to be a donor to help with the cost of our own IVF. I have a phone consult at the end of the month so I will keep you posted on how that goes.
