Anyone formed a business in order to get insurance?

Hello. I've been thinking about starting a small business with my partner in order to be able to purchase insurance with fertility coverage in Texas (in TX, insurance companies are mandated to offer IF coverage to employers). Does anyone have experience with this at all? I don't know where to go for advice. I've never started a small business before and have no clue where to begin. I don't know if I can just create a sole proprietorship with 2 employees to be eligible to purchase insurance. I know I need a lawyer, but I'd rather find out if this is a viable option before plunking down the money to see one. ANYthing would help. Thanks in advance!

My husband has a small business and we just started the process to get insurance through thatas our current insurance is from my job which is a large self insured company so they do not have to provide fertility services. I can keep you updated but please feel free to pm me with any questions.

This is an interesting approach. We already have an incorported company for my husband's consulting. Have you already researched the insurance companies for this? Has anyone progressed down this path...?

My DH had formed an LP and LLC entity. We used this as our business. and aetna and blue cross blue shield offers a group policy and only requires 2 employees. Me and my husband called ourselves the employees. It costs us about 700. a month for excellent insurance. Unfortuntaley IVF is not covered unless u have a tubal or some other problem. I have unexplained so not covered. But I do have the best pregnancy insurance for when I do get preg some day.
