Living in IL but insurance won't pay (dd ment)

Hi,

I would like to see if anyone has had an experience like this. I live in IL which madates coverage for DE IVF. My dh just got a job at a company that is headquarted in CA- and they do not have such laws. So we are being told no IVF coverage is available through our insurance. I would like to know where to go from here. I have one dd via DE IVF (at the time everything was covered). Has anyone had a similar situation, living in a mandated coverage state, but insurance headquarted in another state and denied coverage? What did you do about it?

Other than insurance- has anyone found a way to get financial assistance (loans, grants, etc.) to help pay for treatment? I seem to remember my RE would not work with certain financial assistance programs, is that possible?

Thank you,
Karyn

Hi Karyn
I live in IL also, about 30 mins. from Chicago. My insurance denied coverage for IVF and will not cover any other treatment for IF. The company I work for is headquarted in Dallas, TX. B/c the company is self-insured it does not have to offer or cover any IF treatment. I am really not sure what to do about this and not sure where to go from here either. The RE that I am seeing does offer payment options, which me and dh have decided to do. Best wishes to you! Take care!
