My friend had 2 m/c before her surgery and is now 34 weeks pregnant. So yes it does work and help with keeping that bean in! Good luck.

Hi. This is the first time I'm ever posted anything on the internet. I am 36 years old with a blocked left fallopian tube and a history of uterine fibroids. My periods are pretty regular but from time to time (say every 3 months) i might bleed longer than 7 days. I've had the hsg and recently went to a military fertility clinic. The fertility doctor could not locate my right ovary due to the fibroids during the vaginal ultra sound (i was also on my menstrual at the time). My FSH was 14, but we weren't sure if it was tested on the correct day. I normally see my ob but she referred me to this specialist who basically told me to get a hysterectomy because he didn't like my FSH numbers. I suggested removing the fibroids and then trying to get pregnant, and his response was they would just grow back so why bother. I'm feeling like I should get a second opinion. Also, it was a year last month since I went off of birth control. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there hope for me and maybe this doctor is just old fashioned or am I in denial?

Hi Marie,
You MUST get a second opinion.
This doc seems very old fashioned and not open to change.
Surgery is so advanced these days and fibroids should never stop you from your realising your dreams of having children.
Pls meet another doc and discuss options.
My IVF doc is the best in the region but he messed up my surgery and am scheduled to go for another lap now to remove one fibroid which he missed the last time.
So remember even the best docs can make mistakes. Its always best to take a second opinion no matter how much you trust your doc. They are not Gods and soemtimes their over confidence does harm.
Good luck to you.

Also a quick note..
Fibroids mostly grow back ( but not always ) and they take a few years to grow back. Thats enough time for you to have a child.
Remove your fibroids , take 3 months off and get back to realising yur dreams.
Take care...

Hi Dall21
thank you so much. i was under so much stress thinking my chances were gone. my ob has never suggested a hysterectomy, but i have a 5 minute visit with the fertility doctor & he only gave me this option. i will take your advice, find another doctor asap. Good Luck to you as well and GOD BLESS YOU. have a wonderful weekend.Last edited by Marie2112; 02-10-2012 at 04:27 PM.

I had my fibroids out five and a half months ago...a check about a month and a half ago showed that everything was good to go (we've been trying since the three month post surgery mark). Just when I was all good to go, it appears I may now have an ovulation issue (that I never, ever had before). Back to the RE at the end of the month. I'm being very aggressive since I had multiple fibroids removed. Although those fibroids won't grow back, new ones can grow and I want to get things sorted out now.
