Hi there
First time posting. Was delighted to find this site. I have recently found out that I have a very large fibroid - 10x10x15 cm (pretty huge) - I'm only 30, no kids, recently married....We had just decided to start trying when I felt a lump in my abdomen. That was 6 weeks ago. Since then I have had an ultra sound and then an MRI. Am meeting gynae on Friday to discuss treatment. From what I can see my only option for the size is an AM. Am getting all info from the net (hence finding this site) so am pretty clueless...Its great to read all your stories though and get some real insight. A few weeks ago I was convinced i would never get pregnant. I know I am only starting a long road but I have hope....

Hi and Welcome!
The first thing that I want you to know is that having a fibroid (or having surgery to remove a fibroid) does not mean that you can't/won't get pregnant. I had a pregnancy (and healthy delivery) with a large fibroid, had an abdominal myomectomy, and am now pregnant again after the surgery. I was lucky enough to not need fertility treatments for either pregnancy. I was also 30 when they discovered my fibroid. It is scary for the doctor to start talking about tumors and surgery when all you wanted was to have a baby, but coming from someone who is on the otherside of the "adventure", it wasn't as bad as it sounded at first. Even the AM was easier than I expected. Keep us updated...this is a great site to get support and encouragement.

Thanks so much LadyKTW! Thats music to my ears. Seeing the consultant tomorrow and I feel like it can't come soon enough. I haven't met him before. Any tips on what I should be asking him?
Thanks again. Novice.
