Update and a pic or 2

    Hi everyone!!

So no word from Gina? I've been thinking about her since I figured we delivered on the same date. I'm sure she's busy. This is my first time getting on FT - it's been a busy few days!

On Tuesday night I was talking to DH about how we do not have a short list of names for the baby. We figured we still had a few days and we would make it a priority starting the next day. I went into a coughing fit and my water broke!! We both just stared at each other and then started freaking out. It was 9:30 pm and we didn't know what to do with DS. My mom was coming in the next day and we thought we were covered. A friend came over to sleep at the house and we were at the hospital by midnight. The contrax were slow in coming and I was only 2 cm dilated. At 4 am I was 3cm dilated and the OB on call wanted to put me on pitocin. I had an epidural around that time too. I took a nap, DH went home to check on DS and get him ready for day care. At 8am I was at 4 to 4.5 cm. My OB came to check on me and he thought it would be a few hours yet. At around 9:20 I felt a weird sensation with the contractions and I asked the nurse to check me. She took one look as said - there's the head! She ran off to call my OB (who was at his office) and I called DH. They both got there just in time. I was prepped and did about 3 pushes and out she came at 10:04. It was so much better than last time!! I loved having my OB deliver too since he is so awesome.

It took us a long time to come up with a name and was quite stressful. We both listed our favorite names. DH had 10(!) and I had 6. The only name that overlapped on both lists is Violet (it was his number 1 and my number 5).

So her full name is Violet Simone August C. Simone was a name I liked and August is a family name.

And can you believe what a chunk she is???? We were all stunned. I was looking bigger than last time but I weighed in at the same weight at delivery as I did with DS who was 7 lbs 2 oz.

    So here's my delicate flower.....

She did great in the hospital and slept well the first night. We came home last night and she was up from 9 to 3!!! All she wants to do is eat but the milk is not in yet. She must have been eating very well in the womb. I can't believe all of her hair either. It's about an inch long. She rarely opens her eyes! I think she still wishes she was back in her warm cocoon.

DS is good with her so far and tells her not to cry. I'll try to take more updated pics soon. I just wish she'd open her eyes for some.

I hope all you mommas are hanging in there!!! VERY SOON!!!
