    Calling all twin mommies ..

Okay, so I'm barging in from the March board (same post is over there) because I know there's a few twin moms over here too

Have you had your progesterone levels checked? If so, what were they and how far along were you at the time? I'm having a little anxiety over my p4 #s

On beta day 7/4 at 10dp5dt I was at 19. I was checked again on the 29th at 7w5d and it's only 22. I just find that incredibly low, especially as I'm having twins. I am taking some prog supplementation (200mg prometrium orally 2x/day and 1 prochieve 8% vaginally at bedtime).

Gosh, there's always something to worry about

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what to tell you. Your P4 level does seem low - especially for twins. But it seems like your RE is on top of it. If he/she doesn't think there's anything to worry about - I guess it's okay. But if you are really concerned - I would definitely call & get clarification.

My P4 level was off the charts & my RE took me of my PIO shots at 13dp5dt (8w5d). Everybody is different & every pg'cy is different.

    I hope you have a healthy & uneventful pg'cy!!

Thanks Jen. I just sent an e-mail back to the nurse to verify they are okay with the level of 22. My RE is out of town so I'm really not sure he saw it. He went on & on last Friday that technically my body should be producing plenty of prog on it's own (we used donor egg) and that the prog. supplementation I do take is more for a psychological thing. He had said he could take me off the prochieve if my levels were high enough which he was expecting based on the twins. It doesn't matter to me if I continue this I just wonder if I need even more prog supplementation

I swear, I hate having access to the internet sometimes There's just too much info we can get our hands on

    Thanks again.

I understand what you mean about the internet! LOL!!! And I can understand your concern about your P4 level. I hope either they calm your concerns or they work out the problem. Hang in there - I'm sure it will all work out!!

I was going stir crazy so I called my favorite nurse at the clinic I felt bad for bothering her b/c she sounded so stressed when I called Anyways I asked her about my levels and said I was expecting my prog. to be MUCH higher especially with twins. She told me that prog levels pulsate throughout the day and that we could have just drawn it at a low. She went on to say that there is no magic # for progesterone regardless of how many babies you're carrying. She assured me that if they were concerned about it they would have called me. She said that basically they just look to make sure it's above 12.

I'd still feel a lot better with a high # but I suppose I need to relax and assume that everything will be okay. Easier said than done of course

    Thanks again,
    Ellen

    Hey Ellen...

My RE never checked my Progesterone Levels. Ever. I stayed on my suppositories until I was 11 wks and then he said it was ok to go off of them. It definately sounds like your OB and Nurse are on top of things... and from what she told you today... just try to remember it, ok ? I know... easier said than done. hang in there... I am sure everything/everyone is just fine. xoxoxoxo
