    Blood Tinged Mucus

I had an ob visit today with my new ob and she did an internal exam and u/s and all. Babies were perfect, moving and all but tonight(5 hours later) I went to the bathroom and had red tinged mucus. Could that be from the internal or what? I'm flipping out because we saw both babies and they both had great heartbeats. Would something suddenly happen so soon? I've had it twice now since I've wiped. And I had a dream last night that I had bright red bleeding and they couldn't find the babies hbs

    Oh Lisa,
I know exactly how you feel.
I'm pretty sure it is from the exam.
Hang in there OK. I'm sure everything will be just fine.
I'm told heavy bleeding in conjuction with cramps is a time to seriously worry (..I've had it twice now!!).

    Keep us posted.

I believe it is just from the exam as well. I didn't personally have it but so many other women here have had the same results after the internal. I think you're doing great - - but of course you know if bright red appears, contact your doc.

    Hello!
I have that once in awhile. I asked the dr about it, and she explained it like this:
There is SSSOOO much blood circulating in the cervix area that it is so easy for it to get abrased. She even said that if you bend over, the cervix could rub against the vaginal wall and that could even cause some slight spotting.
Spotting is never fun in pregnancy, but it's actually pretty common.
Anytime there is action near the cervix, it's possible to spot...sex, exam...

Hang in there, I'm sure the babies are just fine.

Not to worry, Lisa. It happened to me too after an exam. I was 12 weeks. I was so scared, though, so I know how you feel.

I agree with everyone else. It was the exam. Don't worry. At my last exam (around 9 weeks) they even told me that some spotting might well occur as a result of the exam. They told me the "so much circulation you will spot easy" story that Robin passed along.

    Don't worry.

Thanks. Spotting returned tonight though. I'm now even more apprehensive, even though it seem to stop and start and it's scant with mucus. My ob assured me babies would not suddenly die.

Lisa, I know how you are feeling and try to rest easy (I know how hard that is!). I have spotted since implantation. My ob says that spotting could occur for up to 14 weeks (I will be 12 weeks on Tuesday). I had/have a small pool of blood from placenta attaching and it has to leave someway. Last time I spotted was last week when I sneezed about 4 times right in a row. My stomach immedately cramped up, and less than a hour later, spotting when wiped occurred. Please try to stay strong!
    In my thoughts & prayers,

    Michelle

    Lisa,

I spotted after my last u/s. I've even spotted after an internal exam when I'm _not_ pg. I'm pretty sure it's just from the exam, so try not to worry (easier said than done, I know).

    Hang in there!
