ME TOO!!!
Hi Brandi, Sadly, it looks like this is predominantly yours and my board at the moment. I too hope everyone is doing well. I have loads of cute and funny things (and some not so cute and funny things ...) that I could post about Jake, but I'm strapped for time these days and also feel bad when not many others are posting (don't want to hog with all my news).Things are going great here. Jacob has his 4 month check up tomorrow. I'll post a more up to date update then. Hope Timmy is doing well. Catch up with you (and hopefully some other mommies soon) Tru

I'm here, but it took some time and effort to get here. I don't know why, but I don't see the playgroups listing on the FT website. I had to follow a link to message on another play group and then modify it to get here! Perhaps others are having trouble too. We should post a new link back on the Feb. DD board.
Eli and I are well. He keeps me very busy though. But, he actually slept through the night last night!!! I was so happy. The only real trouble we have is he HATES(!) to be in the car after 4 pm. Earlier in the day, he is fine. But, after 4 pm he just SCREAMS. It drives me absolutely nuts. I feel like such a bad mommy. Karen

Hey Karen! Great to hear from you and I am so glad Eli is doing well. I can't believe he screams in the car only after 4pm!!! You are NOT a bad mommy...you know better than that! Are you back to work yet? You have the summer off, right?
Glad to hear you're doing well. I will re-post the link on our dd board. Brandi

Hi Karen - lovely to hear from you too and see that things are going well. don't ever feel like a bad Mommy - Eli sounds like he is doing wonderful. (PS Jacob is not too keen on being in his car seat - any time of the day - not just after 4pm!!)
I agree with you about finding this board. I had it saved on my favorites - but kept loosing it as the address must have kept changing. If we don't get any response after posting on the Feb DD board, how about a last ditch attempt at posting on the first year board? Cheers Tru

Here I am! Glad to see that a few of you are still here. I was looking for everyone but, your right, theirs not many around. I'm sure everyone is pretty busy. I know I have been. I'm going to post a separate thread with a couple of pictures.
Hope everyone is doing well.

I was here pretty often for a while but just got so darn busy. My sister and her family was in this past week from Boston so I spent a lot of time visiting with them. Then just normal kid stuff, getting ready for their baptism (which is April 30th), and getting ready to go back to work. Yes, sadly I return this Monday so I'm trying to prepare myself and my family who'll be watching the kids. I trust them completely but I've still been typing up all sorts of info so they have a cheat sheet as to their typical schedule, where things are, etc. I guess I'm as ready as can be for this. Although I work a full day on Monday, I'm sure most of it will just be catch up and people asking about the kids all day - - then I'm off on Tuesday since I'm only working 3 days a week now. So, that's not a bad start back.
So - sorry I don't have much time. But - the kids are doing well. Smiling and laughing a lot but still crying and fussing a lot, too. But - once they get to sleep for the night, they've been sleeping about 7 hours so that is heavenly! I'll have to post updated pics of them but not now.....already after 11pm, I have some other things to do and then pump and go to bed. I just wanted to jump and in and say I'm still here!

jcc - I would like to know how in the world those babies started sleeping 7 hours at night. Lol... I'm jealous!! What is your secret? Mine will be three months on Tuesday and they only sleep about four hours at a time. When did they start doing that? I hope mine will pretty soon.

Katelyn - They started sleeping 6-7 hours at a time around 10-11 weeks. I'm not sure if I'm just lucky or what. But, the few things we have been doing from very early on are:
* Make day and night different. They sleep in their crib (same crib together) at night but nap other places during the day. * Follow the same night routine every evening. Last feeding in their room with dim lighting. Put them in their crib, read a story, then turn on music. Turn all the lights off except for a small night light. DH and I kiss them goodnight and walk out with them awake. Sometimes they fuss but I think they've learned that it doesn't get them anything and now they generally go to sleep fairly soon after. * Their night feeding is 6 oz of formula. They get breast milk (sometimes nursed but mostly 4oz bottles of BM) throughout the day. I think the formula and a larger amount helps them sleep more. I've always had to supplement because of supply for two babies so giving them the formula feeding at night seems to work well. Otherwise, I'm not sure it is anything of our doing. We stopped the swaddling thing a while back when I walked in one morning and Jordyn had wiggled her way down somehow and all the covers were over her head. I freaked!!! She was fine but that was the end of swaddling for us. They seemed to like it at first but always tried to kick out of it at about a month old. So, now we just put them down with no blankets at all. We also used to wake the other when the first got up and feed them both together. I'd say at about 6-7 weeks we stopped this. Since we were mainly bottle feeding them, DH and I agreed to each get up with a kid during the night. Then we could allow them to sleep longer if they could do it. That's all I can say. Hoping your duo gets there soon!

Hi friends,
I'm still around but JB doesn't let me get on the internet too often. He's fabulous, but fussy and demanding! Morning nap time is used to take a shower and keep up with the laundry, dishes, etc., so I don't get online much. I'm thinking of you all though!! I'm so encouraged to see that some of your babies are sleeping 6-7 hours. I can't wait for that! JB sleeps initially for 3-4 hours, then goes back to sleep in 2 hour chunks. So I do end up getting some sleep, but it's very broken up. He just started rice cereal, so as soon as he figures out how to swallow it, I'm hoping it will help him sleep more. He's a big boy; 15 pounds at almost 10 weeks. I've started looking for daycare and I wish I could find a nice home like Brandi found, but so far it looks like he's going to have to go to a daycare center; probably the one in my office building. Luckily I will be home with him until 9/1 and he'll be 6 months then. Sadly, my SIL just lost her IVF triplets at 22 weeks. I sort of feel guilty for having a healthy baby when I think about her horrible loss. It is going to be a rough summer for my family. It will be tough to be around my SIL and her DH with my baby. I hope she gets pregnant again very soon. She's a tough and persistent lady so I hope she bounces back as quickly as possible and tries again. Keep her in your thoughts, please. Well, must do laundry before nap time ends. Love, Jackie |
