Uma's first sentence..

Uma's first sentence earlier today was- " maman( french) give paal(milk- tamil)" followed by chest thumping meaning me..

My jaws hit the floor. I know her vocabulary has been increasing rapidly and that she has babbling long strings...But a meaningful sentence albeit a mixture of three languages....

Later in the day she said the same thing when she wanted her afternoon milk.

So looks like I need to pay attention to what I say to her and I probably need to start speaking simple and clear sentences.

She is growing up too fast.....

I am .. But I am not ready for her to be so grown-up. Offlate, little accomplishments, like her attempting sentences or picking up new words and skills is so bitter-sweet. It is so 'swallow a lump' kinda feeling.

My baaaabbyyy is growing up way too soon. Considering she is likely to be my only child, I sometimes find myself choking back the fear that I will forget her childhood.

Take some pictures.... write things down... why not make a little book (for you now, and her later). :-)

It is bittersweet, but most of all, beyond our control.

I can't believe DD is almost 18 months. Where did the last year go?!?
