Friday Fun Thread (2/22): TV anyone?

It's been a while... and not sure how many folks are out there, but thought I'd give it a go. Friday Fun Thread!

When you were little, what was your favorite tv show and why?

I was (and continue to be) a TV baby. I don't know if there was a TV show I didn't like? LOL. I think I tended to the SciFi/Fantasy sort of things.

Two favorites come to mind:

(1) Land of the Lost -- I think I thought I was the little girl (Holly?) or maybe I was into the dinosaurs?

(2) Battlestar Gallactica -- Apollo was dreamy. ;-) And they had some strong female roles. And yes, I watch the new version too.

I just want to say first that it is great to have you back Tia! Sounds like you are doing well

I didn't grow up in the US, so there was lots of shows that you'd have no idea what they are . But we did have some 'imported' stuff I liked to watch:

- the muppet show - kermit the frog, miss piggy, and the two old guys sitting in the balcony, etc. - I absolutely loved it.

- the little house on the prarie

- grizzly adams (? not sure if that was the actual title)

- anne of green gables - I read the books and loved the series (Canadian?), I just not too long ago saw it on our local PBS station - brought me back....

Little House and The Muppet Show here too! I loved those. When I got a little older, I liked Knight Rider and A-Team. Gotta love those 80s action shows! I have watched them again occasionally on re-runs on cable and they seem so cheesy now.

Oh, I agree on Little House (read all the books too!) and the Muppets!

A little bit bigger, I also liked Wonder Woman, Greatest American Hero and Dukes of Hazzard.

I have to agree with you kms, the shows are sooooooooooooooo cheesy when I watch the reruns now - I can't believe I watched them and liked them! LOL

And Adriana - I never really watched AoGG, but I did read all the books - TWICE! I was an avid reader when I was a kid - and would be still if I had time!

Glad that you all went first to jog my memory!

I watched a lot of those shows and must say that my fav's were Little House, The Littlest Hobo, and Gilligan's Island. I must confess to also being an avid Flinstones watcher as a kid

I used to love Flinstones too!

And Beth, I too, back in the days when I had time, used to 'inhale' books. If I got a hold of a good one, I just couldn't put it down until I was done. Homework just had to wait ...
