Red, White and Blue Slaw Salad

I got this recipe from Allrecipes and tried it this past weekend and DH and my sister loved it. It was so easy and tasty! I love bacon and blue cheese so this was a great combo for me! I added more bacon and less of the dressing.

Once you taste this you will never go back to the 'old' way of making cole slaw!" Original recipe yield: 6 to 8 servings.

INGREDIENTS:
12 slices bacon
6 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup cole slaw dressing
1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the bacon, cabbage and dressing. Mix well. Sprinkle with sliced cherry tomatoes and blue cheese. Refrigerate and serve chilled.

That does sound good. Did you used bottled coleslaw dressing? If so what brand? I've never tried it, though I recenntly bought a mix (you combine with mayo) and it was pretty good.

It is bottled. Right in the section by all of the salads and pre-made slaws. I have never bought it before either and it was good.

This sounds awesome! I am making it Sat. for my twins b-day party. My mom doesn't like blue cheese but, oh well! She can eat all the other stuff!

Did you mix the tomatoes and blue cheese in or just put it on top? Also, if you add the bacon prior to serving and then chill, doesn't your bacon get soft? Another ? - is the store bought dressing sweet because I lik emine sweet and usually jsut make my own! Going to a meeting on MOnday and doing potluck and I will make this one!
