thyroidproblems Level 1
I'm really bummed :(

So, I'm really bummed because my hubs and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years... and I have these massive thyroid problems, so I see an endocrinologist. She's been trying to get the dosage right for 2 years but it seems to never work! Last time I went in she said she was going to test my testosterone to see if I had PCOS, and my cortisol apparently was low so that might be an issue. I just feel like a huge hormonal mess!! I used to not get my periods for 4-6 months at a time, which was all well and good until I decided I wanted a baby. So naturally went to see the endocrinologist, and it was all -- yeah, no problems, just need to get your dose right, etc. But now it's like, maybe not no problems, maybe big problems, need to see an RE. Meanwhile, my hubs just switched jobs so our health insurance was out for 90 days, and babies keep popping up all over the place. These days my cycle is about 40 days, and I used to track temp, but that just bummed me out because it looked like I never ovulated. So now we just try to do the baby dance every other day, and I'm always a little hopeful when I haven't gotten AF for a while, but then I test, and it's always BFN. I can't try any other drugs ATM because if my hormones aren't right in the first place (especially thyroid) it could cause serious problems with the baby and he/she might not grow right, or might have disorders if they don't get enough of the hormone. I feel like I'm spinning in circles!! I can't do anything else other than what I'm doing, and nature is just telling me that it's not right. Does anyone else have thyroid problems? I feel like my body is just really messed up and is telling me I don't need any children right now. But we've been married a while, husband has a good job, I have a good job...why not us?

I'm sorry. I hope things work out for you and your husband.
This can be a difficult thing to go through.
You will definitely find people here who understand.

I am so sorry to hear about your problems. I have had surgery for cervical dysplasia twice and had IVF cycles cancelled from it, so I know what you mean by you body not cooperating. I definitely think an RE will be able to put you on the right path and answer alot of your questions.
